Arteta in the new breed of utterly deluded managers, president of the club being Roberto 'find a positive in the apocalypse' Martinez.

      Hahahaha that's brilliant!

If Arteta has been assistant to anyone else in the league other than Pep, I don’t think anyone would have considered him to have been the right man to take over Arsenal, and it’s showing because there is very little progress there, no matter how much he tries to dress and act like Pep when the cameras are on him.

He's a natural finisher but needs the ball played to him as he won't work to create chances himself.

Yep it’s the difference between being a striker (finishing off chances created by teammates) and a goal scorer (creating their own)

Announced 55 redundancies to invest in the team. They must be hard up and not as well run as some may have thought.

      Why?

Arsenal can sign whoever they like it won't make much difference to us.

Could be in for Messi & Mbappe but until they have defenders who can successfully foot one foot in front of the other I wouldn't worry too much

This is capitalism at its worse, a mega millionaire owner fucks off 55 of his staff but has the money to keep them ,

So I take it then that he can't afford to booster the coffers of Auba and anyone else he hopes to keep or sign for his club,
Then we have that greedy lazy b***ard Ozil who is quite happily raking in the millions whilst sitting on his f***in boney arse, If I were a Gooner I'd be f***in raging at the owners,
Something doesn't sit well with me here,

Imagine what would happen if J W H did something similar,  you only have to look back to the ticket price fiasco to find the answer.

Feel for those 55 who lose their livelihoods,  their wages amount to something like £2.6m, f***in chicken feed to a Billionaire like Kronke,

      What a total Kunt !

      Hahahaha good one that!

Arsenal are in a worse state than Utd, they need new centre-backs and central midfielders before they need more attacking players.

How would football work in a socialist system then, just out of curiosity?

I agree it sucks to lay off staff, but it unfortunately happens, you can't expect a business to run at a loss just to support some employees, that simply can't work in the medium to long term as the whole company will go bust and everyone loses their jobs, not just the 55 people. You also can't expect an owner to chuck in their own cash to pay the wages of 55 people, that would effectively be charity and if they had that kind of money to spend on charity, £2.5m, then I think it could be better spent on people who really need it.  For all you know these 55 people are a marketing or commercial team most of who walk right into a new job anyway.

When Wenger was at Arsenal he had quite a bit of control over the wider budget due to the time he'd spent at the club and the fact he held a master's degree in economics, I remember an interview with him about 5/6 years ago when Arsenal fans were getting more and more pissed off with the lack of spending from the club and their inability to compete with the top clubs like they did pre-Emirates. He said at the time that he felt a certain responsibility when operating in the transfer market because at the end of the day, the club was a business which employs 100s or even 1000s of people in some context and he always had things like job losses and the wider health of the business in mind when negotiating lucrative transfers.

Funny the way it's turned out, not to pin the blame on what's happened solely on Ozil, but paying somebody 350k a week with absolutely 0 return surely wouldn't have helped. Wenger was the manager who initially signed Ozil and one of the last things he did as Manager was tie him down to that bumper deal a few months before he left. At that time also, I think Arsenal had just let their best player in Sanchez go for 25M which at the time was a cut price fee due to the 6 months remaining on his contract. He then obviously must have thought that he had to act in tying Ozil down as he wouldn't want to leave his successor with a shell of a squad having just let Sanchez go.

Feel for Wenger a bit as I can imagine he's kicking himself over it, especially after him saying how he felt responsible for the business and the staff during his time there

You think Everton are going to be challenging for the title this year, what the hell are you smoking??
They've beaten a very underpar Spurs team and a sh*t West Brom team so far, I'll hold judgement until they face decent opposition.

Should we really have challenged in 2014? Then take a look at Leicester. Never underestimate what a good coach can do for a team and Ancelloti has to be rated as a very good coach.
