Should we really have challenged in 2014? Then take a look at Leicester. Never underestimate what a good coach can do for a team and Ancelloti has to be rated as a very good coach.

The only problem is that the Prem has a hell of a lot of good coaches at the moment, none better than Jürgen Norbert Klopp.

      Agree

But like us in 2014, they look like you can get at them at the back

Absolutely, judging by the League Cup game, they've got no actual cb back-up and with little arms in goal.....!!

Get into Europe and have a crack at one of the cups would be a good season for them.

If Brighton win today arsenal will find themselves in 16th place in the middle of December.

Worst Arsenal team I have ever seen.

Club is in a far worse state than the Mancs at board level and I don't see Kroenke investing any more money in them.

In a nutshell they are fu**ed.

Shocking is that Ozil not in the25 man squard

Don’t know what is happening behind the scenes with him but surely he should be at  least on the bench they are crying out for a player who can set up their strikers

Can't quite get my head around them spending £30M on another average keeper when they have far bigger problems.

They have spent over a quarter billion pounds the past 3 seasons and they are dire and will be for a while. NeT sPeNd

They are calling for Arteta's head but what baffles me is who they think will come in to save them?

As time goes on the job/task at Arsenal is becoming more and more difficult each day.

They're in a very similar situation to where we were before Klopp took over.
      - Historic club
      - Internal struggles at the executive/management level
      - Squad in dire need of an overhaul

They do have money though, and one advantage we didn't have: a lot of young players ready to step up. They just need someone better than Arteta to guide them.

It's actually an interesting challenge for a manager, but a very risky one as well.
I hate to say this, but Rodgers would be perfect for them right now. However, I expect they will go for someone like Conte.

To be honest, I never understood why they gave him the captaincy in the first place. They'd better give it to someone willing to fight for their shirt, such as... uhhhhh...  ;D

When I see this, I understand and could not agree more with our policy concerning wages. We don't give bug big wages to players who are getting over 30 for obvious reasons: at some point they peak and don't improve and don't bring something to the table anymore. That's what happened with Aubameyang, he is I think the most well paid and was captain. He does not perform, so what? Arsenal could not do anything, and now they even cannot sell him since no one will want to match his current salary except some Chinese or American club maybe.

That's why I understand that the club is not rushing with Salah. We cannot afford to have a 33-year-old player who is underperforming but paid big wages in a few years time.
