Liverpool FC 2:0 Valencia - Pre, Match & Post game thread.

Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool play their last game of pre-season against Spanish outfit Valencia, before next weekend's big kick-off against Sunderland in the Barclays Premier League.

Valencia finished third in La Liga last season behind Barcelona and Real Madrid and are a very talented outfit.

Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Alexander Doni could make their first appearances at Anfield in a red shirt and the game will be a good test for Dalglish's Reds ahead of their season opener against the Black Cats.

Wonder if Lucas will be involved after a weeks training? The defence needs as much protection as possible at the moment  

Instead of saying we have played a load of sh*te and conceded 15 goals and played like strangers, I am going to be confident and predict a hard fought 1-0 win to the reds to boost some confidence, would love Adam to score.

Yep, me too. I'd imagine that if he feels fine after yesterday then he'll play a full 90.

I'm the Kop too for this one, should be a good test for us.

As our defence is "iffy" to say the least.

Absolute gutted I won't be attending this or even watching as I'm going to the Big Chill.

Last chance to get things right before the opener on the 13th..... I'm hoping for a clean sheet 1st and foremost.  A win would be very nice, but a 0-0 draw will be acceptable too.  I'd also like to see big Andy score another to get his confidence up before the season opener.  

The optimist in me wants to see Aquilani start, but I don't really think this will happen.  It would be great if Kenny can convince him to stay, but I just don't think he will be at LFC come September 1st, so I think any appearances Kenny gives him will only be to put him in the shop window and increase his transfer value....  

We have the most consistent defence in pre season so far... so to continue that run of consistency I'd say we will have to conceed 3.

I don't think Aquilani will be here come Sept, he'll end up at Milan or Juventus imo.

I'd like to see Henderson again (even though he hasn't impressed me), playing behind Carroll in a 4-2-1-3 formation. But I think he should be a backup to Meireles, Suarez or Gerrard in that position.

Lets hope that after this match Mata will be ours

A strong lineup, good performance and a clean sheet would be a bonus before next weeks opener.
