LFC have the most expensive 'cheap day out' in English Football
      Aug 02, 2011 11:46:00 am
If you're looking for the cheapest day at football in England then Liverpool are not the team to watch.  Liverpool's lowest priced ticket is the 'highest of the lows'.

Is it time for the reds to offer at least some concessions for fans priced out of football?

Mmmm! Not the best advert is it.

Unless the Chavs are going to charge £27 for a pie and a cuppa, this is one table I'm not fond of being on the top of.

Is this a throw back from H&G? Could be.. But when the cheapest ticket is £40 (£39 + £1p+p ;-)) it really is piss poor.

Supply and demand, but shows we need a bigger stadium.

4 quid for a pie at Arsenal. No wonder Wenger never piled on any weight the tight get.

Shame that supply and demand ethos is pretty much wiping out any chance youngsters from this city have of seeing their heroes!

Me, if it's F***ing freezing, don't really do coffee and I couldn't drink Bovril all the time.

It's the same everywhere though. Was in Croke Park at the weekend. 30 for the ticket, 10 for the parking and then they wanted 10 for a burger, bag and coke. Just as well I packed rolls, crisps, bars and drinks in the car for the hour long wait to get out of the car park. Fans that travel get taken for every last penny, it's no wonder so many watch games on tv now instead

Down at my local club, its £5 in, £1 programme, £1.80 pie and 75p tea and three of the stands are terraces. Beautiful.

      Beats Soccer Saturday, every Saturday.

The club should offer a selection of cheaper tickets.

Is it really going to hurt the club to offer say 500 adult tickets for £20 each to fans in L4.  The club, after all, takes so much from the local residents - noise, parking issues etc.

Don't think Ive ever bought anything to eat/drink inside the ground in over 10 years

I'm a fairly regular pie eater.  The walk from the Cabbage was very hard work over the snow! ;)

Had the occasional bottle of booze as well.  If Anfield had an area such as they have at the JJB I'd be happier to spend a little more in to the clubs coffers.  The ale's pretty much the same price as in The Sandon anyway.

Should be a residential committee that gets free and discounted tickets for residents of the areas surrounding the stadium.

Just noticed, Dearest ticket at Fulham is £60 sh*t, that is expensive. Ipswich £59! FFS! :f_doh:

Another thing, is that the views from our "small" ground are quite good, other places you need an oxygen cylinder to breath, or the Hubble Telescope to see the pitch.

Our cheapest ticket is the most expensive because we are a top draw, excess demand and no real bad views.  Utd could not charge more than £30 for tickets up in the gods.  When we get our new stadium / redeveloped main stand, I am sure the top tier tickets will be around the same price.

As for Fulham, I near died when I looked at the prices of the tickets for the 'neutral' end.  They never got on to general sale anyway or were all sold out before I looked again.  Hoping to go this year, 3rd December :)

4 quid for a pie? That's nothing, I was at Wembley for an U21 England game and they had hot dogs for 7 quid!

Ignoring the peripheral stuff like tea, ale, pies etc surely value is relative to the product provided and an indicator of which is the actual entrance fee.
The bigger the club the more you pay, I mean how pissed off would they be at Blackburn paying the same ticket prices as at a successful club with some pedigree?
As someone said earlier though this is one table it doesn't pay - lterally, to be on top of in the long term.
