Pre Match - Arsenal vs Liverpool (PL - 20th August 2011, 12.45 pm)

Arsenal should be at another disadvantage too, they play Udinese in a champions league qualifier midweek too. With an already injury stricken squad, plus one or two key players leaving and a tough champions league game to boot, I don't see Arsenal getting a result here.

I'd like to see us play 3 in the middle here, match Arsenal like for like so we don't get overrun in midfield.

Think something like that would give us a lot more movement and ability to keep the ball. Also would have high energy in central midfield; especially with Meireles and Henderson's energy levels, they may not be the greatest tacklers but they have very good energy levels and that is something we'll need IMO. Arsenal always work their opponents hard but I think Adam will be somewhere in the team.

It's been ages since we last beat Arsenal, and if we're going to do it soon then this is our chance. They've just lost Fabregas, Nasri looks likely to move away this week, Wilshere's out and Gervinho's suspended I'm sure.

Going to stick my neck out and say we'll sneak it 1-0. Either that or a draw.

Flannagan must be dropped after the last performance. So too Henderson. Kuyt could probably squeeze in to that lineup, but the three man midfield of Lucas, Adam, and Aquilani is necessary in these big games, as the midfield is where these games are won and lost. And Lucas, Adam and Aquilani offer the three most unique styles of midfielder that I think work well together. By the way, I don't rate Meireles, and he isn't anywhere near as match fit as Aquilani atm, so he isn't anywhere near the lineup for me.

We should be attacking them from the go, to exploit their current deficiencies.

I'm going for a 2-0 win, they are vulnerable as F**k because of Wenger's inability to do anything in the transfer market. I also would choose Adam over Raul because going away from home you need a more defensive/tackling mind in the middle.

Carroll terrorized their back line last year at the emirates.

Putting a few quid on him as first scorer.

This is what I would play but there are a few ways he can play the line-up in this game. I just think with Arsenal not being so great defend set pieces having Adam and Carroll there will cause them trouble. I can see the attacking 3 behind Carroll offering a good threat and good movement.

I think if we can score a goal early their supporters will be on their backs after a poor pre-season, losing stars and not replacing them etc. They are there for the picking we just need to put in a full 90 minute effort.

love this team, would love to see these red men play everybody off the park but I think we will keep it a little bit more defensive v arsenal, may drop adam or spearing back alongside lucas and take out Aquilani and have Suarez a free role off of Carroll.
Skrtel would probably get swapped for Carra also.
