Pre Match - Arsenal vs Liverpool (PL - 20th August 2011, 12.45 pm)

I am very optimistic about this game, but in no way complacent.

Anyone who thinks they will be a pushover is kidding themselves.

Having said that, I think we will win a close and hard fought match.

I'll never forget that game in 2000... Titi Camara scoring and then it being all Arsenal for 75 minutes, them hitting the post, the bar numerous times, we were hanging on for dear life.  Should have won it 2-0 as well!

I'm going for 1-3 with our third coming in +90 minutes. tick tock tick tock...

Amazingly pivotal this game, in my opinion our rivals for 4th and a win against them could really dent their confidence and team spirit and cause much more than just a single game lost. A loss for us and it would be pretty harsh to take considering the problems they're facing at the moment, a draw would not appease any side's fans so I do feel we need to make a statement and win this game with a strong performance.

Luis 1, Carroll 1 2-0 for me but by no means a cake walk, easily see someone getting sent off, come on LFC!

Thats confidence for you no goalkeeper,I know Kenny has faith in his defence and midfielders but not that much faith.All I want is 3 points,that is not much to ask for is it.

As long as we win Ian it will not worry me who scores,I see you will be able to watch Harry Kewell live again seeing as he is going to play for your other team.

Woo hoo!! Finally got internet at home.

Would have been nervous about this last season but with the Arse having their ups and downs and with our new lads chomping at the bit a three pointer is well on the cards.

With the Arsenal in turmoil there has never been a better time to break our duck at the Emirates. If we are to be considered true challengers to the top 4 then this is a must win game. If we loose or draw then, even at this early stage of the season, i think top 4 will be difficult. We have to kill teams off and this has to be the start of it, 2-1 to us.

Me too, weren't we wearing the awful green 'Carlsberg' style away kit that day!? I remember after watching that game it was the first time I really thought Houllier has got us going places here. It was the consumate defensive performance.


As for today, it's been so long since we've beaten them on their own patch we must be due a result but I can't see past a 1-1 draw. Hope i'm wrong but defensively i'm not sure we can keep a clean sheet so we'll need to bag a couple of goals if we're gonna win the game.

So we've concluded that our top 4 aspirations will be a difficult target to achieve if we don't win this game today.. Our 2nd game of the season that is.
