The dates for the two legs are the 2nd and 9th of August with the latter being a week before the league campaign kicks off.

I'm aware this is next seasons campaign but is starting to play competitive matches a couple weeks in advance a good thing? Assuming we're going for this that is.

To be honest I've never understood the fuss about starting the season early, it always sounds like an excuse to me. Surely you just incorporate it as part of your pre season schedule?
