I would probably go with Robbie Keane, not so much because he was a bad player (he wasn't) or that we lost that much money on him (we have lost more on others) but because if we had made the right signing, signed the right player at that time, I believe we would have won the league that year.

Babb has to be the other worst buy, for similar reasons.

Albert Riera? Certainly not! I thought he was a good solid winger during his time with us.

Yeah, first game I went to, I saw him make his debut, against Oldham. He was.

Bruno Cheyrou didn't exactly live up to the hype, but I remember a decent spell he had for us. Two against Newcastle in the FA Cup and a winner at Stamford Bridge! Anyone else remember?!

step over and run like F**k.

It was never going to last.

I also hated Speedie, but that was because he was a tw*t - although 6 goals in 12 games ain't to be sniffed at...

He also scored against Wolves! He was better than Obertan, so at least our "next Zidane" was better than the scums.

It's a shame that certain players were just not right for our great club.

We'd all like to forget that tw*t, but it does us good to remember that some players are just here for a wage, and we should wheedle them out accordingly.

Jimmy Carter.Signed by Kenny at 800.00 grand in '91. Not having a go  at the man that signed him. But as a player Carter was pure sh*te if you can remember back then.

For me it has to be Keane...who COULD have been awesome for us and would have seen more playing time if he was 3 years younger and had arrives under Kenny's reign...but still a HUGE waste of money.
      OR
Diouf....utter tw*t who really showed who misguided our management at the club was at the time to invest in an utter embarrassment as him..

For me the worse signings for L.F.C. has to be Hicks and Gillett, they did far more damage to the club than any player ever did.

In terms of being let down Fernando Morientes. I know he was only £6 million, but I was expecting big things from him.
Keane was a bet let down too, but we should never have paid £20 million for him in the first place, not after Torres only cost us £21 million! I never expected Keane to be a goal machine, just a second striker.

Has to be said that Aquilani is making a fairly convincing run on the rails for this. There have been worse IMHO, but not that many.

      Plenty

      Sean Dundee
      Istvan Kozma
      Julian Dicks
      El Hadj Diouf
      Paul Stewart
      Salif Diao
      Bruno Cheyrou
      Josemi
      Neil Ruddock
      Paul Konchesky
      Christian Poulsen

All far worse players than Aquilani in terms of talent.
