Wasn't one of the games he struggled with though when he got slotted in at full back after Johnson got injured.......or am I mis-remembering?

Always just struck me that he got "lumped" into that "disasterous window" Kenny had in summer of 2011......you know the one that preceded our last trophy and 3 trips to Anfield South........

Actually he has only played about 9 times for us he had a terrible injury which meant he was out for 2013/14 and he has only played a simliar amount for Sunderland so to see him against Arsenal fit and healthy and still only 24 years old means he is worthy of looking at again.
I remember going to Wembley that summer how did that happen

slow, sluggish, pretty poor on the ball but I think he defends very well.

is it worth selling if sunderland offer 5m? yes

Sunderland want him, sell him if we can.

Shame, big hopes for him when he signed.

Another player yet to have a fair opportunity. So what, he's slow. Was John Terry ever blessed with pace? Was Carra ever known to be the quickest? That'll be a no to both. This lad was rated as a youngster, had a bad injury but has overcome it. Give him a chance to see if he's good enough. If he's not, then fair enough, sell him on. After all, Lovren so far has had more than enough chances IMO...

To be fair, Brendan rarely gives his own signings much of a chance, let alone Kenny's. Turning out to be a real tosspot of a manager. IMO of course. Oh well, if Seb is sold on, best of luck to giant fella...

he did nothing wrong but to be honest didnt shine when he played apart from that cup volley!

happy we've moved  him on we have a real problem with stockpiling so we have a big squad but would rather take a risk have a smaller squad of players who get regular game time.

He had plenty games to show what he can do, and never really did, and unfortunatley, had better players in the team ahead of him.

That was a PL game away to qpr when we scored two and they came back to beat us 3-2. Class goal though.

Shame is this. I liked Coates and had it not been for the injury i think we would be looking at this sale differently. Still think he has something to offer.

      Same here.
Personally, I think another loan is the way to go, see how he progresses, and then either bring him back or sell him for a higher fee if he has performed reasonably.

Gotta be on the last year of his contract Swab; by the time he comes back from loan he would go on a free.

Not really, he was a young player who wasn't a regular and still adjusting, then missed most of the season after with an injury and then got shipped out on loan.

I'm not saying he's good enough but I'm not saying he isn't either, just that he hasn't actually had a plenty amount of chances

Don't get me wrong I wanted him to de well, and thought he had a chance. But it's not happened, and yes there was an injury, but if he was better than what we had, he would not have gone on loan.

Players train everyday, as well as starting games, that is thier chance.

He has been with us for what 4 years now?, and not become a regular, not even became a regular sub.

For his sake and ours its time for him to leave and start becoming a regular.

Falcao is good enough for Monaco and he went on loan. But yes, I do get what you are saying like.
