Bentley was never good and was massively over rated after one decent season with Blackburn he had a massive ego which did not fit his talent. Wenger was dead right off loading him. He was piss poor at Birmingham last season and has being god awful at Spurs. No one had an ounce of interest in him this season till big sam decided to take a punt on him in the Championship Awfully over rated player.

In regards to N'Zogbia he was absolutely shocking today never thought he was good enough for us and think we got a better player in Downing. Was listening to Brian Little questioning the 10 million they spent on him today.

Luke Young last summer was one of the 'please no' players.

Alan Smith was the other one. We were really heavily linked with him at one point.

Ones that I'm most thankful we didn't get have to be Carlton Cole and Gareth Barry. 

Realistic options that I wish we had gotten this window - Eljero Elia, Arturo Vidal, Blaise Matuidi, and Jeremy Menez. 

I fear that if Lucas goes down, we will realize how short of cover we are at the holding midfield position, and one of Matuidi/Vidal would have been perfect in this role. 

We also need another winger who can create off the dribble and carve chances out of nothing, and both Elia and Menez can do this.

I know that this is somewhat off-topic but does anyone know where I can find the thread about players we missed out on throughout the H&G regime due to negotiations etc pulling out of deals such as Aguero? If you can it'd be appreciated if a PM to me, I'm just looking up something for a mate and It'd be much appreciated thanks in advance
