Through to the next round, that's all that matters.

Really enjoyed watching Luis and Craig up top today. They looked dangerous and quick every time they touched the ball.

Was a very nervy finish but we go through to Round 4 and Stevie got about 20 minutes. Can't ask for much more than that.

Through to the next round, that's all that matters.

One step closer to the Cup, come what may. When is the draw?

Solid performance. Could have been 4 or 5 up at half time. Only negative was conceding another chuffing penalty - seems to be almost one every other game now.

it was fantastic to have stevie g back. a midfielder who knows what needs to be done, gets into positions, plays quick passes. what a brilliant presence he is.

happy with the result we played some good football, killed them in the first half. we need to do this against more teams, wolves on the weekend and more. have presence!!!

Game of 2 halves. Not sure what was said at half time by both mangers but Brightons also slipped something in our tea to make us sleepy. Thought we were very good (albeit against poor oppo) in the first half with Kuyt, Bellamy & Suarez looking very good. Perhaps abit complacent after the break & I'd have liked to have seen more aggresive subs made. Great to see Gerrard back, but a shame Suarez wasnt kept on with him. Personally I'd have taken Maxi & SPearing off for Downing & Gerrard at that time

it was a very good result. the gift at the end took the polish off a bit, but we still could have scored 3 or 4.

no reason why bellamy shouldn't start against wolves after that performance instead of carroll. i firmly believe in standing by under-performing players and working on their confidence, but you've also reward players for earning their starting place. wouldn't be a bad thing to kick carroll a little nudge to give hima  wake up call. and bell-end earned his start :)

Don't agree mate, we should have been out of sight by half time. Second half was more even but we still did enough imo to deserve the win.

Hi Brighton fan here, I would make a new thread but I dont know how to !!! so if someone who reads this could start it up and copy and paste this for me that would be fab !!!

Really I just wanted to know from anyone who made the trip down south what thought of the following.

      1. The stadium, how does it compare to other stadiums you have been to mainly prem stadiums ?
      2. The seats, did you like the space and comfort of them ?
      3. How did you get here ?
      4. was it hard to find the stadium ?
      5. stewards, what were they like?
      6. pies, how do you rate them ?
      7. beers on offer, any good ?
      8. Our fans, how do they compare to other teams ?
      9. the big sceens and surround sound any good ?
      10. our best player from last night, who do you think it was ?
      11. were you happy with the result ?
      12. do you think we could have a chace for promotion any time soon ?

overall I think last night was very good game, you played very well in the 1st half and could of been 4 - 5 nil up, but thank god many of them hit the post !!! I think your style of play is almost same as ours but because of the quality of players you have in your side, you done it much better with your 1st touch and so on,  2nd half wow I think you must admit me out played you and and were unlucky not to get a couple of goals in the net. if we played they way we did in the 2nd half all game I really think we could of won, just like if you played the same way in the 1st half you would of done us much harder,

my man of the match in the whole game had to be bellamy he was deadly against us and was by far the best player on the field last night.

once again if someone could start a tread for me that would be great !!!! or tell me how to !!!

Saw the highlights and the performance looked great by Kuyt, Maxi, Bellamy, Suarez and all.

Bellamy crashed his free kick against the bar, what a goal that would have been.

Noticed how fast Maxi ran when Bellamy sent the ball to him for the second goal, ;D.

Quite shocked, certainly didnt see anything reported about it. I know he's had his problems & is getting on but he was once a player I'd have loved us to sign. I would have thought his days would have ended in Spain. Must be Poyet's connections. Yeah, he still showed what he can do when he came one, don't know if it's a loan deal or what.

Good result. We played particulary well in the frist half with real signs that Suarez and Bellamy will prove to be a potent partnership. In truth, we could have had the game buried at half time if it were not for the frame of the goal which denied us on a few occasions.

We had a few of the more fringe players in the squad get a run out such as Robinson, Spearing and Coates. Spearing made an unforced error which led to the penalty and Coates gave the ball away shockingly easily at one point in the game. These mistakes will be cut out the more game time the players get though.

The return of Steven Gerrard is a massive plus point from the game for me. People seem to forget we have not had our best player for the best part of 6 months and with him in the side and on form. We will be a much much harder outfit to come up against.

Roll on Wolves. I hope Bellamy and Gerrard both start!

Nothing more to add to what has been told already.
Matches such as these (discounting the second half performance) makes you look forward to the next match and wonder why we don't play 24 hours a day. :D
Just hope the lads work on the perfect finish so that we can kill such matches in the first half itself(We paid for not doing that against Sunderland)

First half was very good.  Should have been about 5-1.

Second half poor, although Brighton didn't have too many chances.

I was worried when I saw Dirk Kuyt second on the list for the Man of the Match, but then after voting good to see the deserved winner was picked up by fans watching the game on TV too.

Kuyt was very very poor for me.  We all know he lacks control of the ball at times, but his usual harrying and chasing down was missing as well.  Martin Kelly also had a poor game - in fact the entire defence made several errors.  Coates and Carra made mistakes, and both full backs were turned and beaten far too easy.

All in all though the result is always all that matters in the cup games.

Let's hope we get a home tie in the next round.
