I've got five words on the subject.

      No injuries to Gerrard thanks.

      Totally agree JD.
But it's an excuse to open a few bottles tonight and have a bad head for work tomorrow.

Just cracked open my first 1 litre bottle of Bulmers, and have a few bottles of wine on ice at the mo.

Totally agree with the pair of you's. And, to be honest. I have a few tinnies in the fridge. Wasn't going to touch them but seeing as you are Tommo....

Haha, what a Muppet I am.
Went shopping at Asda last night and bought some packets of Rowntree's sweets (good offer !!)
Cracked open a packet of the 'pick & mix' (fruit pastles / fruit gums & tooty fruities), and now my Bulmers taste's like sh*te !!

Maybe this packet of sweets should go into the 'Nostalga' topic   :D

Now to put the winnings on England to score next.

      oooops won again.

Wine's lovely (without the sweets !)
Gerrard's looking good for England's next, but as long as we score next, them I'm well up.
I hope our defence holds up tho'. Ferdinand is playing sh*te as usual.
It'll be my last bet of the game, as the wine is talking to me about daft bets to put on !! :drink: :dunceblock:

I want a tenner on Owen to get his hatrick as he's got 2 so far and his 2nd was a blinder from a knock down off no other than Emile Heskey.  The Germany 5-1 scorers are still on for a repeat and surely worth a fiver @ the bookies!

He was nearly in with that miss kick though wasn't he mate!
Agree about Ferdinand - over rated to say the least!!

Have to say, how much more obvious does it have to be that England play better without fat frank!!!

      Over rated Ferdinand....

Oi! I only had two cans!!

Yeah, Owen looked pretty sharp in front of goal. It was the old Heskey - Owen combination wasn't it. Alright for national duty these days, but when it comes down to week in week out business...
If Owen stays fit and stays on form, he'll score a few goals this season.

Sure did watch the game Kenny, and I enjoyed it too, thought Michael was pretty good tonight, glad Stevie came through ok, hopefully he'll be ok for the portsmouth game.

That was the best thing about the game wasn't it - Gerrard coming through with no injuries. Hopefully these two England games have worked in our favour for once and he's got some decent match practise in.

Saying that, it wasn't a bad game to watch either. Most entertaining England game i've seen in a little while.

Never thought I'd say this but I have actually enjoyed watching England during the last 2 games. Some excellent passages of play culminating in 6 goals and 2 clean sheets, not bad. It was great to see Shaun Wright-Phillips and Micah Richards bag a goal each, both players in great form and a rewarded with a goal.

Micheal Owen has found his feet again and his goal against Israel oozed class, a real pearler. Tonight's conversions proved beyond doubt he has the ability to crucify defensive lapses with his razor sharp eye for goal. The partnership with Heskey worked a treat and if I had to eat humble pie then Emile has served up a cream pie and smacked me in the face with it, circus clown stylie! He has rolled back the years and surprised me with his all round game play, not that I didn't know he could still perform, but for England? Fair play mate!

Gareth Barry has been a joy to watch and has taken to his midfield duties like a duck to water. 3 assists, fantastic performance. The balance with Gerrard looks like a hand in glove and none of the discussion about the Pie Eater, this combination works a treat. As for the other Chelsea connection, Joe Cole is another class act on his day and has turned in some good performances for his country and wins automatic selection for me.

The defense has looked reasonably solid but there have been a few anxious moments when the wheels threatened to come off a good performance but all in all the nuts have been tight enough to ride out the bumps, Robinson doing what was required although not too challenged by weaker oppositions.

Hate to say it but credit where it's due, Ferdinand's cheeky shuffle 'n' shoot was another cream pie in the face for me, I tend to base my opinions of him on that stupid send up show he did against fellow footy stars (and that was sh*te!)
I'm not his biggest fan but McClaren has assembled a squad where you expect the best but actually get better than what you bargained for... is that another cream heading my way...?!!
