Gerrard and the rest of the team were playing shockingly bad before that game so it shouldn't be an issue. Gerrard also needs to realise that just because it was his last game of such magnitude that he doesn't automatically warrant a spot in the team. He was a 34+ year old Gerrard not the 25 year old version.

Exactly. I would have left him on the bench too. He was playing sh*t all year. It is not enough but I think we will be better without him. Sorry King Gerrard but your time was up. Much like former Galaxy superstar David Beckham, the Liverpool icon announced in January that he had signed a Designated-Player contract with LA but concluded the European club season before arriving in Southern California over the weekend.

His first training session next week is expected to draw a large media attendance as well, and the Galaxy scheduled a press conference inside StubHub Center afterwards, with club president Chris Klein, head coach and GM Bruce Arena and Dan Beckerman, president and CEO of Galaxy owners Anschutz Entertainment Group, expected to participate.

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, June 29, 2015) – LA Galaxy will introduce midfielder Steven Gerrard in front of supporters this Saturday, July 4 at StubHub Center during halftime of the team’s match against Toronto FC. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes. Gerrard will begin his official training with LA Galaxy on Tuesday, July 7 at StubHub Center.

The practice on July 7, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PT, will be followed by a press conference in StubHub Center’s American Express Stadium Club at 1 p.m. PT that will feature Gerrard’s first comments to the media as a member of the Galaxy. The press conference will be attended by LA Galaxy President Chris Klein, LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena and AEG President and CEO Dan Beckerman.
