A mistake? Yet a large number on here were saying how much better we played without Andy and how he didn't suit our pass and move football. So maybe if we had played Andy we wouldn't have played as well or created so many chances and maybe even have lost?
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't springs to mind.
Agreed. I went over the game a lot in my head after, and in hindsight i thought about all the balls into the box early that could have benefited from Carroll (i remember two particular chances that just missed Suarez that Carroll would have got easy, and had a very good chance). But then i also understand starting with Bellers and Suarez, you got two tricky speedy players who can score, and any other day they would have had a bagful with all the play we had.
Definitely damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Honestly it's perplexing. I'm not worried really, as we had 29 F***ing shots - TWENTYNINE! That's amazing, and shows that this team is going in the right direction. Kenny has us playing well, dominating most games so far. Our issue is, obviously, goalscoring. And to a lesser extent, silly mistakes at the back.
The positive here is they are issues that are very simple in theory. There's no complex problem that requires a huge overhaul, we just need to learn to score with what we have. Players need to be more composed on the ball as we are shooting wide a lot, and just keep doing what we are doing. I can see us breaking out very soon if everyone just keeps cool and doesn't panic.
We'll be alright lads and ladies, we'll be alright.
