Produced in Moray, Scotland no less! Incredible for an area of Scotland I'm so familiar with, both Aberdeen and Inverness, that I've never been to the area where it's produced. That said I can lay claim to having lived next to where both Highland Park and Tennents have been produced!

For a Scottish whiskey it's very light. Thought you lot were hard bas**rds.

I've taken a liking to Desperados, the tequila beer. I didn't like it at all when it first came out, but it has certainly grown on me!

Having a few beers today, tasters rather than full drinks. Started off with something safe, Badger's Hopping Hare. On the mild side of hoppy but crisp and refreshing golden ale that ends with a sweet note, rather than the usual, slightly bitter note of hoppy beers. It's a 3.5 outta 5 beer.

Next on my sip list is Wylam's Puffing Billy, a smoked black bitter. A burnt, lightly smoked flavour hits you first, then a treacly, molasses flavour with a hint of that flavour you get when you suck pennies  which is followed by a soft coffee aftertaste. Love to pair this with food, as an accompaniment to a rich beef or lamb dish I feel this could go from very good to excellent.

Moving on to my third beer, called I Am, from Yeastie Boys Brewery, a company that has impressed me before.  It has impressed again, sparkling golden ale, floral, hoppy notes followed by a bitter-sweet after taste. The fizziness is explosive in your mouth, adding a creamy texture that washes over you tongue, giving you the flavours. Superb.

And forth is Bear Republic's Red Rocket Ale, it smells sweet and fizzy, I don't know how or what it is that smells fizzy, it just does. Looks like a coke when poured, has a dry, sour taste that, despite it's effervescence, feels flat. Further to that it has a slight licorice hit on its way out, cementing my dislike for it, but licorice is not for me.

Lerwick Brewery's Azure is my next stop and it's summer drinking - back or beer garden,  light, refreshing, flavourful and quaffable. It has a lovely bitter-sweet, mild hoppy taste. Could easily drink a few more of these, just a smidgen behind the Yeastie Boys offering, with one to go.

I'm finishing off with The White Hag's Red Doe Red IPA, which hits all the right notes for me, hoppy, floral, bitter but still falls behind the Azure and I Am. If you see anything by the Yeastie Boys, you have to fight, for your right, to partake. Not had a bad beer from them yet.

Just had an Erdinger. And alcohol one. Didn't know they made them. The mother-in-law sent them over with the missus when she bought them for the father-in-law thinking they were non-alcoholic. Had shag all else in the frigo so had it. Massive head! (that's what they all say, eh :) ) froth came quicker than a blocked drain. Wasn't bad tbh. Will proably drink the rest as a result. Better than a mixed 6 pack of Belgian ales I got a few weeks back as a pressie, was like drinking washing up liquid.
