Anyone seen that Tom Hardy series that was on BBC?

      Any good?
      Worth a catch up?

Missed it but spent the last week or so watching all of Love/Hate.

Quite an addictive little show and fair play to RTE for producing a fine but of TV.

Still watching House of Cards on and off before the new season and again Kevin Spacey seems like he was born to play Frank Underwood.

One of my all time favourite TV characters.

Yes mate, started watching it the other night. Think I'm 6 episodes in.

      Worth a watch.

My brother's visiting and has me watching some sh*te called "Lockdown" on Netflix.
We've gone through the whole series in less than a week, and it's depressing as F**k.

I'll give Taboo a watch and see how I get on :)

Totally agree about Kevin Spacey playing Frank Underwood. One of my favourite characters too.

As for what I'm watching - finished first season of Billions which I really liked and just started on Ray Donovan.

It has every season of Weeds which I intend to start watching soon.

I was enthralled by the original UK series of House of Cards.

Ian Richardson as Francis Urquhart in the first series was one of the best TV series performances I've ever seen.

As good as Kevin Spacey is, I still prefer the original.

First 6 episodes of Iron Fist getting ripped to shreds by reviewers, but then again, the majority of them did rate Luke Cage which I found boring. Still hoping it turns out great.

Watched the first few episodes of Taboo.
It's OK, far from gripping, but not bad at all.

Gets better mate, stick with it.

I finished it last night, the last 2 episodes were very good.

      I wasn't saying it's no good, I'm enjoying it.

Just observing that it doesn't (for me) have that quality which makes it unmissable, but I'll definitely finish the series.

In fact, my only real gripe is Tom Hardy doing that grunting thing again.
It drove me feckin mad when he grunted the whole way through Lawless, and I find it both strange and annoying

Ha. I found that ridiculous as well!

Finished watching first season of Billions. Spot on but the most important question is

How did Chuck land his missus? 😍

Always the best recommendation when someone is going back to watch a series again.

I'd planned on re-watching The Sopranos this year but feel like I'm already building up a backlog!

How many episodes roughly is it?

101 over 5 seasons, it's such a break from the dark and dramatic things I usually watch. Over the series a dozen plus Trek alumi show up and Betty White is a joy on this in her brief stint, as is Michael J Fox.

I'll be starting the last (or the second part of season 6 as it's called on the cover) season of Sopranos some time this year. It kind of lost me in seasons 3 & 4 a little, 3 especially almost feeling like a parody, but 5 and the start of 6 picked back up. It feels like a show that might benefit from another watch.

I'll have a look into that, nice one.  8.2 on imdb and that's usually a fairly accurate reference for what I like anyway.

      Finished Taboo.
It was pretty good (apart from the soon to be patented Hardy grunt)

      I still can't get into the Soprano's.

Then Sopranos for me was just okay. Don't think I'd ever rewatch it.

Boston Legal, though, is something I've never seen but heard lots of good things go about so I may start that tonight with the other half.

      Just about to say similar.

I must watch The Sopranos from start to finish almost every year.

It puzzles me, because this is a series that has everything I enjoy.
I get 2 or 3 episodes in, and then start losing interest, then think "I'll come back to it when I'm in the mood" and promptly forget.

It's very strange, and maybe it's time for a concerted effort, so next time the Mrs buggers off with her mates for a weekend, I'm going to give it another go, and try to finish the first series at least.

Sopranos Dave, never seen Boston Legal.
Kinda spoilt on Mafiosa movies and the Sopranos does seem sanitized compared with some big hitters in that category.
