Has anybody here ever watched Homicide: Life on the Street?

      If yes, worth a go?

Yes, it looks a bit dated but really good

Just finished watching the documentary 'The Vietnam War' by ken burns ( BBC 4 ) totally absorbing ,emotional, revealing & fascinating.
Some amazing footage & vintage photographs along with interviews.
It was mindblowing seeing what the president was saying to the public compared to what he was actually saying behind closed doors.
This doc was the cut 10hr version but the 18hr version is available from Amazon U.S which contains more of the above & interviews from actual vets who have not spoke out before.
I can't recommend this documentary enough.

Just worked my way through the This is England 86, 88 & 90 spin offs again. If there is a harder hitting, grittier more emotionally draining British series I've yet to see it. Love this series but it gets me right in the gut and it's hard to watch without shedding a few tears. Classic Shane Meadows.

Just started “The Tunnel - Vengeance”.

Really enjoyed the first 2 series.

“Tin Star” still the best thing I’ve seen all year.

I was going to watch that next now that I've finished watching Breaking Bad. Wow what a series that was, especially the first season which was so original and I also enjoyed the drama of the last few episodes, brought the whole thing to a nice, if dramatic conclusion :-)

Amazing how many people miss what can be pretty biting satire in the show, so I'm wondering if that's why they made it more obvious, about Brexit.

They certainly didn't pull any punches, and I think it's one of the most underrated comedies ever.

Coping the the annual christmas madhouse became a bit easier after watching (and recording) that.
I have a feeling I'll be watching again a couple of times over the next couple of weeks

Yeah - there's something depressingly funny about how debased and consuming this Brexit agenda is in this country that a comedy as far out as The League Of Gentlemen and which seemed long gone is now as contemporary as anything and more capable of satirising it than anything else! Definitely a case of the UK moving closer to the world of Royston Vasey rather than the other way around! Then again, The League was always a bit ahead of it's time!

Definitely something that will reward repeated viewings and a rewatch of series 1,2 and 3. Might even go back to watch League of Gentlemen Apocalypse which, from having last seen years ago, didn't seem as bad as some made it out to be (even if it's a bit messy). Undoubtedly one of the best comedies I've ever seen.

Done that a while back. Like you say a tough watch at times but well worth it.

That dinner table scene in 90 is as hard hitting as they come.

Recently finished Ozark on Netflix and I’d definitely recommend it. Jason Bateman is very good.

Watched the first episode of True Detective last week and it didn’t grab me in the way that other series have but I’m told it’s excellent so I’ll have to try again.

Just finished the first season of Last Chance U on Netflix.

Really good documentary series following a junior college football team.

I don't know much about American Football other then the NFL so really enjoyed this and will start season 2 tomorrow.

Really should be watched by everyone who was too young and and didn't experience the effects of Thatcherism on working class communities north of the Watford Gap.

Just finished episode 9 of Star Trek Discovery.

      Wow, just wow.

      Stunning.

Answers a load of questions, leaves you with more.

This isn't the Trek I grew up with. It is the right Trek for now.

Just watched the 1st two episodes, not that impressed so far, does it get better?

The first two seem to be the prologue for a series that is all prologue.
