It has been revealed that samples of tissue taken from victims of the Hillsborough stadium disaster have been kept without their families' knowledge for 22 years

The discovery was made by the panel examining the documents detailing what happened on 15th April 1989 at the Sheffield Wednesday Stadium.

It was common practice at the time.

Not that I'm excusing it, and the fact is that the documents pertaining to it had no reason to be classified in ANY form.

It seems the first rule of government and police is to cover everything up.

It sickens me every time something new comes to light.

Well done to the panel for releasing this info early - something of a political move, but a good one all the same.

I long for the day when we can get to the bottom of this so that those who lost loved ones, or were traumatised can finally know some peace

The innocents who never came back from a football match and their relatives still have no peace do they ? i doubt everything that happened on that day will come to light ,missing video tapes etc. taking and holding on to tissue samples from the injured and dying must be like a knife in the heart for their loved ones ,the 96 and their families deserve some closure and that will only come from knowing exactly what happened ,why it happened and who caused it !

Disgraceful.

Hope that this early disclosure represents the level of openess the whole matter requires.

It may well be a sweetener for the covering up to come, BUT I do hope nothing suprises me with this bunch in charge !
