RIP Gary Speed

Looks like suicide absolutely tragic

At first I read the name, and it didn't register. "Gary Speed?", I thought.

"Nah, can't be...". I continued browsing through the pages, and went back and thought, "No F***ing way... REALLY? HOW?!"

Unbelievable.

Absolutely shocked that he took his own life, he left two kids behind

Terrible news... a really good footballer and a nice man, my thoughts go to his family

It's so tragic.

He was a fine player.

So very sad that it was suicide. Condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace.

I'd love to know why

Only last week, he was saying how excited he was to working with the talent coming through Wales now and how he looked forward to September and the qualifiers?

Just got back in to hear this news. Am in total shock. Absolutely gutted and can't believe things were so bad that there was no other option.

Jesus, always liked Gary Speed too, condolonces to his friends and family, absolute disbelief at this, Met him once when I was out in Newcastle and he wasn't your arrogant footballer like some I've bumped into in the past, he was a real nice genuine fella.

To hear he passed away in those circumstances really hits you home, doesnt it? There he was, looking a million bucks, but deep down he felt like that. Tragic. Absolutely tragic

Can't imagine the Swansea game being about 3 points now. A few lads may have to pull out.

Sad news.  Suicide always is.

Thoughts with his family and friends who must be devastated - seems completely out of character - although we do only see the public face of these people.

If it was suicide you've got to think it was unrelated to football, probably more underlying issues no one had any idea about. Absolutely gutted, more than just our manager, he was a model professional and genuinely seemed like a nice man but when it comes to matters like this football doesn't really matter. Absolutely horrible.
