A triumph for "boring" football. Chelsea must be proud

      4-0 mata.

that could mean Torres gets the golden boot.

He and Gomez have 3 goals and 1 assist each
Yeah he does get it. 4 players were tied at 3 goals and Torres gets it for that last assist. Unreal.

Gomez and Torres are both on 3 goals and one assist, but Torres gets it because he has fewer minutes played.

It depresses me how great Spain are. How long can Casillas, Iniesta, Xavi and Del Bosque go on because as long as they are around Spain can do anything they want.

Feel for Italy but Spain were immense and deserved their win. Who would of thought it, Torres to win the golden boot.

Yea Italy deserved to be in the final and didnt play too bad. Just Spain were much better. Italy should definitely keep their manager Prandelli, they will be a force in WC 2014. Like his character and he was a good manager at Fiorentina.

Spain are such a team. They are all outstanding individuals. Unlike other teams where players stood out for them (France with Zidane), its a complete team effort and I am honoured to be watching a team like them in my lifetime.

In this generation, they are what the Uruguyans, Dutch and Brazillians were in their periods of time.

Definitely. Be harsh to overlook he superb job Prandelli has done in two years. Italy should persevere with him for a good years. He's done a sublime job.In fact both managers tonight are absolutely top class. Del Bosque no doubt one of the finest ever.

Congrats to Spain, fully deserved to win, that first half was just sublime, a lesson on pass and move 'the Liverpool groove' football, we may have invented it people but these guys have mastered it tbh, an absolute joy to watch, tika taka or whatever the modern day name is for it, was engineered by Shanks all those years ago, perfected by Sir Bob and carried on thru the years by uncle Joe, Roy Evans and of course King Kenny,

sadly we will never know if the King would have brought back the success this simplest of philosophies gave us in the past, however,in Brendan i feel his brand of football is not to far away from the same ethics, ''if you have the ball, they cant harm you''

simple effective and very very successful as we proved in the past and Spain, Barcelona are proving today, well done to Spain that is three major comps on the bounce, a piece of history in itself.

That was such an orgasmic performance.

That pass by Iniesta to Fabregas and the way Cesc held of his man and composure to put the ball to Silva's head!
Then that 50 yard run by LEFT BACK Jordi Alba before he received the ball from Xavi to score. Alba impressed me this tournament. He works so freaking hard.
Again great pass by Xavi to set up Torres and then by Busquest to Torres to set up Mata.

They were on another level and they thoroughly deserved it. The first team to win three World Cup/Euro titles in a row. Pirlo and Balotelli hardly had a sniff at the ball.

Well done Spain and how I wished I was Spanish.

Also, nice touch by Ramos for Miki Roque and Fabregas himself had four names (I only remember Puerta and Jarque).
