Lassana Diarra (Real Madrid)

Liverpool are ready to submit a loan offer to Real Madrid for their defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra.

According to the Independent, the Reds are looking for a replacement for the injured Lucas Leiva and see Diarra as an ideal short-term fix for the Brazilian.

Would be decent enough cover.

More than decent enough cover. He is definitely 1st team material and would fit in perfectly.

Very good defensively, quick, mobile and a very good passer. I'd be very surprised if we got him on loan.

Real do have Khedira, Xabi, Sahin, Callejon, Altintop and Granero in a similar position to Diarra, all will play a part this season. I'd say this could be done, particularly as the Independent is a fairly reliable newspaper.

I think a lot of that has to do with Sahin's injury. I think once he's fully recovered Lass will be seeing a lot more bench.
