How do you cope with Liverpool not winning?
      Dec 22, 2011 06:56:09 pm
The older I get the worse I feel after a defeat or even a draw, after Fulham it took me 3 days to read a paper or talk about football. Under Rafa for the last 2 seasons and then Woy it became easier because I expected nothing. Now with Kenny in charge I expect us to win every game, I think we can all see the potential as well.

Question is: how the hell do you cope, as I need alcholol and that isn't clever.....Any of you got a way of dealing with the stress.

Liverpool not getting a good result usually means I avoid watching match of the day, talking about other teams results, talking about football in general or being able to appreciate other teams, I also avoid coming on here as much sadly.

Not very happy, but still pluck up courage to buy a newspaper, the worse is when reaching a semi final of a cup competition, and get knocked out. That is the most sickening blow.

I try to sleep it off. I'm nasty when we don't win, and I'm only 17, so I hope it doesn't get worse as I get older. :(

I supplement it with watching my American Football team play, the Cleveland Browns, who are currently 4-10 and will probably be 4-12 to finish the season and havent had a winning season since the 90's.

So in comparison its not that bad for me.

A sense of perspective and a realisation that it is going to take more than a season to get us back to the dizzying heights of 08-09.  Coupled with the fact, last December we were toying with the relegation places.

Add in a pinch of Kenny needs time - he's half a new team to bed in and has largely done without the club captain.

      Then take your pick of:
We won't play well in every game
There are at least some encouraging signs in every game
We are progressing (obviously not as quick as some people would like)

Being someone involved in the dark arts of Psychology - I tend to reason and look for explanations behind things rather than just think 'we didn't win - sack the manager' (not that anyone here does, well most people don't anyway  ;))

Remember that this is the team's first season together as a squad and that we're on the right tracks to great things.
