Lots of rumours suggesting Carroll won't start tonight.

I'd say if he doesn't he's finished with us.

;D.......naaah. Andy is actually doing better than Robin Van Persie was at 22 years old, and we all know how good RVP has been.

He may well go on to greater things with us, but if he doesn't play against his old club when Suarez is unavailable, it's a massive vote of no confidence. I think he should play.

      Kuyt could start up top.

His first goal for Liverpool was against Newcastle I think, needs a goal this season badly.

My prediction for the tonight: We play sh*t but create four chances but score them all. Win 4-0. And the forum erupts into massively overreaction over the performance and every says they knew along we wouldn't get Top Four ;)

Would be a massive blow to the lad considering Suarez is out.

Wouldn't surprise me though if we did go for Kuyt up top and get Bellamy and Maxi around him.

Always get the impression Kenny doesn't like people second guessing his teams. Everyone seems to think Carroll is a nailed on starter, wouldn't actually surprise me if Kenny says bollocks to the lot of us and sticks him on the bench to be honest. Massive game for us this, whoever is on the pitch needs to do the business.

A scrappy one nil win will do, going in off Carroll's pony tail.  Just want the 3 points.

I just want the 3 points here - the performance is irrelevant for me. Sure i'd love a brilliant performance but a win is so much more important now.

I'd much rather be winning scrappy 1-0 wins then demolishing teams but are unable to find the back of the net.

I really hope Carroll starts - he deserves a run of games now, and he'd thrive in the atmosphere. He needs to get a run of games and feel under less pressure.

Also i'm not a fan of Kuyt up front on his own - sure he works hard and puts in a shift. He just doesn't link up play that well, nor does he ever look a threat.

Fifty-five Borussia Moenchengladbach fans will be at Anfield this evening to watch Liverpool take on Newcastle as part of their annual pilgrimage to Merseyside to celebrate the friendship that exists between the two sets of supporters.

It is a bond that is absolutely unique in the world football and, although other clubs throughout the world also have friendships with each other - most notably Celtic with St Pauli from Germany - no other two teams have a friendship as strong or as long lasting.

Indeed, it is almost 40 years since Liverpool played Borussia Moenchengladbach in the 1972-73 UEFA Cup final when the first friendships were formed.

Following this evening's game with Newcastle the fourth consecutive LFC/BMG fan party will be held in Liverpool City Centre.

I have a feeling you might be right and we may see Dirk and Bellamy.

Just home from work so time to get settled and enjoy this game. Any win will do for me but if Newcastle are the team to get the long overdue thrashing from us all the better.

Craig Bellamy and Jay Spearing both start in Liverpool's final match of 2011 against Newcastle tonight - listen live from 7.15pm GMT.

Kenny Dalglish makes two changes to the team that drew with Blackburn Rovers, meaning Andy Carroll leads the line versus his old club while Steven Gerrard is on the bench.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Adam, Henderson, Spearing, Downing, Carroll, Bellamy. Subs: Doni, Maxi, Kuyt, Gerrard, Carragher, Shelvey, Kelly.
