He's quality everytime he plays, mate. He just doesn't get played alot. Joint top scorer last year aswell.

 This is going to sound completely w@nk, and I apologise in advance, but I heard about this yesterday. Apparantly Bent though is on 120K per week at Villa (yikes). Top player, we should have got him when Spurs flogged him (as I said at the time, nice to be right about something for once). If he played for us he'd score lots of goals, simple as that really. My guess is that if we don't push too hard we might get him a bit cheaper than it first appears as well. They need the money by all accounts, and getting that inflated wage off of their bill would be a big burden released. Murmurings that he isn't settled too.

The guy score goals and we need goals.  He doesn't have to worry about creating the chance (Suarez will handle that).  He only needs to finish it when it comes. 

Based on his track record at doing so, I'd take him on my team.

Could have got him in 2004 when we were sniffing around. Always thought he was a good striker and to be fair he scores goals against clubs which we should be scoring but can't. Carroll isn't doing it and sticks out like a sore thumb in the squad and Suarez can't hit a cow's backside with a banjo. Would be a good buy but nothing more.

I've always defended him against what I thought to be extremely unfair criticism, but at this stage I'd like to believe we could go for players of higher calibre. That said, if he does become a LFC player, I wouldn't be too disappointed.

Feck that I hope this is not true... Not worth more than 8mill and would rather see that money spent on another striker... some foreigner thats yet to make his name!

I don't see why people are so unsure about this ? He's a proven goalscorer and has done it for his whole career bar the blip at spurs a few years ago,but if you'v watched him since he's matured an awful lot

20 million for 20 plus goals a season i think it's worth it !

Well, from what I know We have spoken to Bent's agent regarding a move and Bent would love to move to Liverpool, so all I know we are interested.

To make this possible signing more ridiculous villa bought him for twenty four million last January he ain't going for cheaper than that in January or there would be uproar amongst villa fans. I think he would cost about thirty million honestly is there anyone mad enough to think he would be a good signing for that.

Fair play you prob thought Carroll was a good signing for thirty five million as well.  Love to be what your on. But back in the real world if your spending that much you have to be looking for better

 I don't think wed have to go as high as 30 mill to get him. My guess is Villa will ask for Carroll plus 8-10 mill, or something of that nature.

We need a world class international striker, Darren Bent is not that.
