Good result that Stevie making the difference Andy still not doing enough but 3 points most importantly onwards and upwards redmen !

A lot of Downing's play has been positive today.
I think you can see he lacks confidence in the hesitance of his final ball,
which has cost us at times today.
Maybe the confidence of Gerrard can spur on the likes of Downing, Henderson and Carroll.

He's the missing link.  I thought Downing wasn't half as bad as some on here before he came on, but Hendo and Andy certainly seemed to be lifted by him.

 Gerrard absolutely unbelieveable. Scored one and made four chances in half an hour. Completely changed the game on its head, MOm by an absolute country mile. If he'd come on for them and not us we'd have lost 3-1. Best player to have ever worn the shirt.

 60% fit and he can do that, and the fans on the forums barely mentioned his name while he was out.

Carroll excels on those early whipped in balls. More of them please...

Main points for me:

Carroll's attitude stinks, you could see him giving off to every player around him, and yet him fluffing 5 chances not 1 player said a word to him. He's the issue, not the service.

Downing was playing ALOT better tonight, first time i've seen him have a go at the defender.

Gerrard not only superb play, but fantastic attitude to allow Bellers smack the free kick, he may be the captain but that looked to me like he understood Bellamy has been plodding away for weeks and allowed him his chance he earned.

That ref needs spoken to, several dangerous challenges were completely ignored (particularly the one on Spearing and Beller's bust face). Glad he didn't ruin it for us, on any other night, that would could have.

Steven Gerrard is the best player in the league by a F***ing mile.

Wouldn't trade him for anyone.

Just wow.

You could really see the difference that Stevie makes, a lot of players really upped their game when he replaced Adam, most notably Carroll and Hendo.

Great win, happy with everyone's performance. Stevie will bring our new players on much more. Carroll and Henderson looked much better when Stevie came on.

As fans, For once let's not pick any negatives out, lets celebrate the fact stevie is back and lets enjoy the win & go into the new year with a positive attitude. Roll on 2012

AC really have no luck (or quality ?) for goal at the moment, hit a bar again and that last miniute chance when their keeper alreday out but AC also look tired and missed again. At least he can learn a lot tonight, a lot really.
Gerrard (+Bellamy ) men of the match for me, Enrique, Johnson, Skrtel are really good too.

MOTM has to be Craig Bellamy, we were better than Newcastle but in all honesty we weren't that good, not until Gerrard came on. If it wasn't for Craig's drive, quality and leadership it could've been another frustrating home game. I'm very impressed with him, don't think he's played badly once since we re-signed him.

I'm pleased with the back four and Spearing also had a very solid game. Adam and Henderson were poor, incredibly boring and with real difficulty to dominate the game and make anything happen, in the end both got assists but really unimpressed with both.

Respect for Skittles for saving Ba"s certain goal, Stevie was immense all in all a great performance.

Andy's first half performance was laboured, but much better second half - and that was down to Stevie. Unlucky not to score 2nd half.

Bellers can count himself very unlucky not to have gotten man of the match. But what a performance by Steven Gerrard. How important is he to this side? 5 minutes after coming on, and everyone raised their game. Why? Because they now had a leader on the pitch. Something we have missed badly.

Wrap him up in cotton wool, because it's going to be very interesting with Gerrard and Suarez in the side at the same time. Absolutely bossed every where he went. A true world class player up there with the very best.

Skrtel and Agger, reminiscent of Bruce and Pallister (sorry, had to say it), only better looking. That's a real partnership right there. Sorry Carra.

Finally, have to say, well impressed with Spearing. Quietly went about his job, harrassing and breaking up play, also pitched in with a few good passes.

Watch the whole match and enjoyed it being honest. Bellers man of the match for me. However, wouldn't argue if Stevie G got it.  He was  exceptional from the first min he came on. He even did his best to get Carrol on the score sheet. 

On to Carrol! what a pile of sh!t sorry lads but he's just can't play the Liverpool way. He had two outstanding chances and fcuk up both of them...(( not forgetting his others ))...

because it wasn't perfect. Carroll and Adam were poor people can deny it all they want doesn't mean it ain't true. You may have seen id posted more positives.

What an amazing game. Great to see Gerrard back and right on the top of form. Bellamy was definitely man of the match for me.

Fck it, i will give MOTM to Skrtel, this great save deserves it
