Don't give a F**k what anyone says, Carroll played well.

Gerrard put more useful crosses into Carroll in half an hour than we've put in for him all season pretty much.

MOTM: Bellamy. So glad to see Stevie back.

Astounding the difference one man can make to a football pitch

Yep that was a really glaring example of a completely class act turning the game round in an instant.

      Best thing about today? ???

We're level on points for 4th place. :P

However Arsenal are fifth with game in hand and can leapfrog us.
And Chelsea in 4th also have a game in hand.

But the pressure will be on both of them tommorow and im banking on them to drop points. ;D ;D

Agreed completely. Carroll was really lacking quality service, and tonight's 30 minutes were a clear proof of that.

But not the first time though from our skipper,he has done it countless times for this club and will continue to do so.

Great result. Bloody delighted! If anyone ever doubted Stevie G's influence on this team, I am sure they won't now. The whole team went up a level when he came on, mist importantly Hendo and Carroll. Still can't believe the abuse that Carroll is getting this evening. Thought he was excellent, especially when Stevie came on. Lets not forget Bellamy either, with a brace. Take a bow son. ;D On wards and upwards Kopites. :D

Meant to add, massive thanks to Mr Skrtel. He kept our lead by putting his body on the line, quite literally, and expertly cleared it away. Without that, who knows what could have happened. :)

To say Andy played well is almost laughable though... when Gerrard came on, he played 3 balls to Andy. In one of them, he was totally unmarked but didn't control the ball. In the other, he hit the bar. In the 3rd cross, he jumped but didn't reach the ball. Before Gerrard came on, he did nothing at all, some of his headers were center-back alike... How is that playing well is beyond me...

Wasn't long back when tw*ts on here were saying SG was finished.
Not even fully recovered from injury, he comes on for less than half and hour, scored the best goal of the night and deserved the MOTM. The guy is IMMENSE.
Just having him on the pitch lifts the team, and he put in more decent crosses than we've seen in the last 2 games from the rest put together.
Thought we created less chances tonite and didn't dominate possesion as much as in last 2 games. But won 3-1. 30 mins from SG was the difference.
Downing still can't shoot for sh*t, Hendo was quiet (but nice pass for SG), and Adam is having a bit of a dip.
Bellamy did really well, took his first goal calmly and that was an important time to score - was gifted the 2nd through a Newcastle defensive bollox up.
Agger was good and poor old Andy is still struggling.
Will take those 3 points though, thanks very much, and a happy new year!!! :-)

MOTM for me is Gerrard, very closely followed by Bellamy and Skrtel.  Bellers for his wonderful performance and the two goals, Skrtel for that goal-line clearance, almost creating a goal and just an all-round very good performance.  But Stevie shaves it, the match was still in the balance when he came on, but he lifted our players performances so much, and scored.  We looked a different side when he came on, he gave us direction and purpose rather than just running around and probing constantly.

andy is a footballer and a smart one too. i saw that out there today and i've seen it before. he could have had more than one goal, too, which is something i've also seen before. of course he stuffed up some touches but so did henderson and then so did enrique. i reckon kuyt next to carroll for longer would be great for the big man and stevie putting balls on his head all day will only bring goals sooner rather than later

      spearing was fantastic
      bellamy superb
      johnson was real class
      stevie, legend

100% agree here. One goal and a run of games will change Carroll's goal scoring record. The minute Gerrard started flying crosses into the box for Andy it showed why we got him: a complete aerial threat.
