Really surprised by the amount of people who'd pay more than 12 million for Walcott. Said many times in this thread that I think he's a very limited player with very poor decision making.

Worth a gamble at 8 million or certainly on a free, we shouldn't be sweating over paying 15 million for someone who is the archetype of a one dimensional player.

Can only imagine the quality we could get outside the premier league for 15 million, even someone like Scott Sinclair or Adam Johnson (who went for less), players who are far superior in my opinion.

I'll breathe a sigh of relief if this one passes us by.

I'd rather Sturridge - gets more goals.

Personally think we would get alot better value for money and a hotter prospect than both from abroad.

More chance of lord lucan turning up than us getting Walcott. Time to lock this thread!

I wouldn't lock tomorrows gonna be rife with speculation

Would be a good move for him getting a more central role

Agreed. There could be a few Arsenal players with itchy feet after seeing their better players being sold each season. There's a chance that Theo would like a fresh start with a more 'ambitious' club and could force the issue.
With the Carroll situation sorted out Brendan will turn his attention to Walcott.
The owners are believed to be willing to advance the manager the proposed monies from the Carroll deal to facilitate the aquisition of Walcott.
As Rep says the exodus of some high profile players recently will have created a not too positive atmosphere in the Arsenal dressing room - beside the fact of course Theo Walcott is a lifelong LFC supporter.

I think we will do some business today but I don't see it being Walcott...

I just can't see him leaving, maybe if he doesn't sign by January (a new deal) then they could sell and I'd still think they would get 8 million in that window..

Honestly don't see Walcott moving today..

I would, I just don't see it.. Not today.

There seems no willingness on Wengers part to sell or Walcotts to force it..

I think 6 months grace is on the cards for both sides in that one.

Agreed - Wenger has been too specific in that regard. He really would look a fool if Walcott goes now.

He would have been a great asset to have actually. I'm sure he wants to leave due to Cazorla and his limited time now. I'm fan and think and hope we should sign him.

Just wonder if he is worth going for in the January window now that his position is becoming increasingly difficult at arsenal.
Maybe he is worth going for in January?

He's always worth going for in my view but I really do believe he will sign a new contract with them sooner rather than later.

Surely he can't be happy wasting these vital years before the world cup on Arsenals bench?

If it's an argument over money then Liverpool can forget buying him also. He's not worth £100,000 grand a week. The offer that Wenger has given Walcott seems about fair. That is if this is about money, but the whole playing time could have a factor.

Maybe we are keeping it open to try and trick the FA into thinking we are allowed to sign another striker.
