Walcott isn't clinical enough to be a striker - Walcott is purely about his pace - he is like Cisse without the same goals. He should stay as a winger

Everyone thought Thierry Henry should have been a winger and look what happened there. Okay Theo isn't cut from the same cloth as Henry, they do, however, have very similar playing styles; relying mainly on pace and finesse.

That Freelance Journalist lad on twitter says we're gonna go in for him in January. 6.5million, 75k a week. Some London news media place is his source.

      Taking a gamble is he?

A goal and an assist today against WBA. He most definitely has an end product now, continuing his good form from last season

Walcott is clinical and his crosses are good, he's not the most intelligent winger like Valencia, Nani, Mata etc but his pace is a threat, his movement is great and is a good finisher. He is exactly what we miss although I think Assaidi and Sterling can be as good if not better but lack his experience and confidence.

I'd sign him personally, I'd rather have him than Milner or A.Johnson for example.
He is a good player who can bring much to the team and we lack pace and goals.

More than likely, of course. Still I think he'd be a good signing.

He was IMO the best winger of the league 2 seasons ago and had if I'm not wrong produced the most assists of the league or he was second to Silva(can't remember well). But to say, Nani is a great winger, not the greatest man on the pitch but his dribbles and crosses are great.

To return to Walcott, he may not be a football genius but at least he does what we need and lack here. Wingers who can score and he can even play as striker.
I'd like us to sign him even for 12m+ which is the max I'd pay for him with his wages and contract situation.

I was thinking like , he is a striker who can play as a winger.

He was supposed to be but I have never seen him there. He started as Arsenal labelled as a striker but since has played as winger and is for me a winger.
It's like saying Johnson is a striker who plays at RB, since he started as striker (long time ago) if I'm not wrong.
Walcott is simply a winger who had started to play as a striker. His finishing is good, just look at his goal vs West Ham, he is very very good when one-on-one vs the GK and with his pace he can find himself in these positions very often. (although with our passing game it is rare to find our players in these positions)

I thought Walcott is primarily a forward but used as a winger at Arsenal?

Would have him here because he's a decent player. Can cross, can score and can run. Attributes we need for a change.

And calling Nani intelligent is an insult to all the Silvas and Matas!!

      Walcott thread mate!

Keeper made a good save off him tonight then took him out and he's gone to hospital for x-rays.

Walcott for anything less than £10m and £100,000 per week wages is a bargain. Im guessing, if he does sign the used formation will be a 4-3-2-1 with Suarez and Sterling/Suso playing off him. With Suarez's and Suso's understanding that could be a great front three. If Rodgers wants to go more blunt and use pace he has Assaidi and Sterling as options and can stick Suarez down the middle.
