Great result!  Only worry is what the hell happened to the Oldham player?  What was said to upset him so much?

Can this be the turning point game we were hoping for?

Lets hope so, confidence can be like a new signing for some people!

Good game overall, why can't we play like that in the league?

Great result chuffed for Carroll and Downing,Gerrard all over the pitch again suprised he played the whole match?but good result in the end.

Nice goals at the end.  Pleased for Carroll and Downing.  Result was never in doubt - we did enough and nice to rack up some goals - if only we could start doing that in the league.

Not a negative in sight (apart from that little rucus that we're not sure was about)

lots of positives to come from that game. oldham were giving it to us but we were persistent and the scoreline really shows it! i swear there was something almost fishy about those last few minutes, i had a feeling it was going to be a bigger win than 3-1, it's like we wanted to score so we did..! lets hope we go on to do that a lot more! great performance! shelvey, bellamy, kelly looked solid, congrats to downing, and carroll for another cup screamer he is just getting started at LFC big andy, the happier he is the better he will get.

I'm very worried about the fall out from what was said to Adeyemi. Very. Fingers crossed for the best, proper, and correct action to be taken if it was something racial.

For fck sake we just won 5..1 and all i see is this racism sh*t talk about  jumping to conclusions , the way he was rubbing his chops i would have thought he had a bang on it , but no all of a sudden every little thing is down to racism, enjoy the win and wait and see before slagging off fans who paid hard  earned to go and support us .

Bellamy was excellent again and great to see Andy and Stewart get their goals. Hopefully they can kick on from this.

My MOTM was Shelvey as despite a few passes going astray he was always looking to get involved, played some nice forward passes and got his goal.

Love to know what that ruck was about.  Could have been something about a family member - the kind of faux paus that then turns out to be true or something??

And best of all, Stevie G with a full 90 mins unscathed. Will start against City. Picked it up in 2nd half but Oldham did create chances all night. Our defence and keeper were a little shaky

Anyways, good to see Shelvey and Downing getting their first goals for us tonight. Carroll scoring as well, although he did miss a sitter. Bellamy certainly makes a huge difference to the oppo defenders head ache thats for sure. Shame he wasn't 6 years younger. All in all, a great result from a possible banana skin. Have to say, the first goal that put Oldham ahead is one that will live with that fella the rest of his days. "In front of the Kop, get away Grandad"
