Would he react like that though - surely more with anger?? I don't know.  That's what makes me think it may have been something personal.
Yeah I wouldn't have thought crying would be your first reaction.

Not watched the game but if its true what kind of Liverpool fan would be such an idiot? Could it be an Everton or Manc fan.. where abouts were they seated?

I have no idea what was done or said, but that hasn't stop anyone from making assumptions.  If it is in fact true, then we are up shits creek.

BBC are reporting it as a verbal insult from the crowd.

Delighted to see Shelvey and Downing get their first goals for us, hopefully that will give Stewart a huge boost to his confidence and he can push on and regain some form.  Jonjo is a delight, he's so full of confidence, great to see his first goal and an assist.  90 minutes for Stevie, and another goal.  Chuffed for Andy, that was a cracking strike.  Bellers was my MOTM, another goal and full of running and attacking.  Can't complain about their goal, that was a stunning shot, nothing Pepe could do.

Good run out for the lads.  Walk on!

Slowish start.  But after their goal we moved up the required gears and cruised to a comprehensive win.

Great to see Carroll and Downing joining in on the fun.

Onwards to the next round and Suarez first game back will not be the media frenzy of United, but the Spurs home game where he will be important for us.

      Wish I'd gone tonight now!

      Yeah, like...''you Oldham tw*t''. ;)

I may be jumping to conclusions but I can't see it being anything other than racism.  Perhaps some fan thinking they're funny and repeating what Suarez said to Evra....only guessing though.

One thing we do know is the media will have a field day with it and the reputation of this great club will be dragged through the gutters again.  :-\

      At the kop.
Good performance from all the team. For me, Shelvey was MOTM on par with Bellamy but to see at that age attacks and passes brilliantly!

Liverpool closed out the contest with relative ease, but the final few minutes were marred by a verbal insult seemingly aimed at Adeyemi by a Liverpool spectator - which ended with the 21-year-old midfielder breaking down in tears.

It was a sad incident which marred a contest that, on the field, was played in a great spirit by both sides.

Well done lads hope this is the start of new beginnings still a bit of fine tuning to be done but 5-1 what a score. Nice to see Andy and Stewart get a goal each too hopefully this will install some much needed confidence into them.

Select fans? What of the thousands booing the kid every time the kid touched the ball?

If this is a racist incident, I am utterly disgusted and sickened to the core.

@TonyBarretTimes No fan was ejected following Adeyemi incident. I spoke to fans nearby who claim "Manc b***ard" was the only thing shouted.

Eye witnesses saw two fans wearing Luis Suarez t-shirts, and heard one of them clearly shout "You f***ing black b***ard".

I was sort of thinking, maybe a chance 'dig' at a family member - who it may turn out - by chance - was very ill or something.  Or something personal about a family member.

I can hear press pencils being sharpened now.....

Mirror columnist Ollie Holt jumped to their defence saying he "doesn't know" if it that is racist...

Life bans for the fans involved and should be charged by the police.
