I guess Defoe would be OK as "our Bellamy" next season if it came to that, it would be easier to accept bringing him in if we had a fresh name to replace Maxi and Kuyt and add to Carroll and Suarez, like a De Jong, then Defoe would make sense.

Yeah Jermaine Defoe can fit in good with us. But I also think we must try to get players like Luis Fabiano, Miroslav  Klose and Gabriel Heinze. For sure, players like this can fit in good with Liverpool.

because we want to build for the future.

there is too much talk of building for the future. if you ask me we need to build over the next 3 months for next season, not the seasons after that. If we don't make a massive improvement next year, the future won't matter cause we won't be able to attract anyone decent. look what happened to Leeds, its a slippery slope.

i would take defoe for 10m no problem. i think this summer, any money we have should be spend on proven players, not punts for the future

I couldn't see Spurs selling him for £10M.

Overrated. Goes missing frequently, may be wrong but seems to need a lot of chances to score and usually scores in bursts then goes off the radar for a few games. For the price he'd cost we could get someone much better and younger.

He scored 17 in 21 appearances this season. That's a very good ratio. Not saying he would be my first choice but If we don't have much to spend this summer, I think for 10-12m it would be a good buy.

I think it's plain to see 'Arry has no plans for him, the only issue is would Spurs sell to us without trying to ripus off?

If we sign Defoe, it'll be an older, worse version of Keane. The man is like Berbatov, he scores 3-4 goals one game, scores 1-2 the next, then goes missing for 5 or 6 games.

I'd be very surprized if he was in Brendan's thoughts, it was rumoured he was linked to us prior to the Jan window, tbh, he could have proven very handy what with our lack of goals, but things are different now and i can't see him plying his trade at Anfield any time soon.
