      1994:

      Liverpool 3-3 mancs

The first home game against them with the new dugouts, the last home game against them in front of a standing Kop, and one of the top 10 of all time.

A lot has happened at the club in the years since. Hopefully the next 25 years, will be more successful.

That era of 2006-2009/10 was Stevie at his absolute peak, and what a joy it was to see him do it. Once in a lifetime player.

How Rodgers didn’t get the boot after that game is beyond me. Embarrassing result to finish an embarrassing season.

I remember after that game absolutely dreading the season to come, to lose 3-0 to the likes of WBA was bad enough but we got completely humiliated by Stoke that day and the worrying thing is, it wasn’t even a surprise.

Really is a testament to just how far we have come in such a short space of time.

      Dark, dark days back then.

That was the end of that squad IMO, and the start of the end for Rodgers.

The same reason Klopp didn't get the boot when we lost at Spurs last season, when some were calling for it, saying the defence would never improve under Klopp. We've never sacked someone, nor should we, over one result.

We've come a long way since then, let alone 2015.

      2017:

      Liverpool v Crystal Palace

The jinx at home to Palace hits for the third year running. The top 4 spot is at risk ahead of the trip to Watford next week, because Benteke had his Weetabix and Sakho had his big day out. We need 10 points from our remaining 4 games to make it, and everyone has something to say.

      https://www.lfcreds.com/reds/index.php/topic,49624.msg2036005.html#msg2036005

In the past 1,096 days, some things have changed. No opponent has taken 3 points from our house since, as Anfield is now the ultimate fortress in the country, where we've dropped 4 points in 2 years, and we've become Champions Of The World. Other things have stayed the same. The opposition that day are still looking to avoid relegation.

We duly got our 10 points to kick Arsenal out of the European Cup, and we've been on the crest of a wave ever since.

On lfctv at 2, don't think I have ever seen more than short highlights I am ashamed to say, is that the game when the guy runs on the pitch and gets carted off by the police still waving his rattle?

So many memories of this match. Best goal I've ever seen scored in a cup final. His first wasn't bad either. Was in the Isle of Wight for this one, had only been dating the Mrs for a few weeks and dragged her along to the pub to watch it. 14 years ago now, and married with a 2 year old and another on the way! Remember some chap gave me a Cuban to celebrate as had been so vocal during the match!

I remember one of my best mates at the time was a West Ham fan and I can still remember now our reactions throughout the game. A game with plenty of twists.

Biggest thing though, if it wasn’t for the Gerrard strike, we’d have actually lost the FA Cup final to a team that not only should we have made pretty easy work of but to a team that had Paul Konchesky score against. That goal, the other goals they got, the disallowed goal we had, it really seemed as if everything was going against us that day.
