I was there, 27 years ago. Scary thought

Missed the Chelsea game, so didn't get the voucher for the Norwich game. Ended up on my dad's seasie with my brother in the Anny road. The Kop looked awesome.

Still remember seeing the board go up and saying 6 minutes.  My heart sunk, was physically drained afterwards and slept all the way home.

One extra roar of "Coooooommmmmmeeeeee Onnnnnnnnnn" from the Anny Road from me then the collective intake as Gudjohnson fired that shot across our bows and then breathe followed by  crazy celebrations.

It was the most excruciating 90 minutes ever. As Brian says, time froze when Gudjohnsen unleashed that shot. When he struck I knew it was in... only it wasn't! My word, the chills from that night is unreal. Along with Barcelona two years ago, Anfield never sounded better. I think it was even more remarkable against Chelsea given that there was no let up in pressure all night.

The Chelsea semi of 05 is the loudest I've ever heard Anfield. That was 20 years of frustration of watching other teams get their hands on our trophy. The fans played a massive part of the night dragging the team over the line.

      What a f**king night

      If Carlsberg did come back’s,

What a night, what a performance, no Salah, no Bobby, Robbo giving Messi a wee head rub, Divock’s opener, Gini’s double, and that corner, Awww that corner, it’s a thing of beauty, and Divock’s icing on the cake, everyone, all the staff arm in arm in front of the Kop singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, sheer and unadulterated exctasy, it’s one of those nights where in decades to come ppl will say, ‘I Was There’,  I wasn’t but wish to F**k I had been, a moment frozen in time, etched into everybody’s mind,

Only Liverpool can do this kind of thing, it’s what separate’s is from the rest, others may get to a CL final, but they’ll never do it quite as dramatically as we can.

And it wasn’t the first time either, Olympiakos, Dortmund, AC Milan in Istanbul and then Barcelona……the story to be continued….

May 10 1986.  I remember Clive Tyldesly on Radio City describing it as "The Greatest Day in the lives of many Liverpudlians".  I think I would include myself there.  Happy marriage, great kids - but you have time to prepare for those things.  She'd said yes a year previously and there was little chance that she was going to do a runner on the wedding day.  But the chances of Everton spoiling our double were strong, and as they threatened a 2 goal lead in the second half, appeared likely.  The sheer elation when we turned it around is something that will always stay with me.  Wonderful day.

Two great occasions in the life of Liverpool Football club and was fortunate to be at both games, 1978 Wembley and what a great atmosphere after winning the first European Cup the year before in Rome, we came back home to win our second one. What a day !!
First Merseyside Derby in 86 and we battered them off the Wembley pitch, I was in the everton end and boy did we celebrate, no trouble in them days though and the cries of Merseyside....Merseyside ....Merseyside rang round the ground.

Today was a good day in our history

1984 we won our 15th league title our third in a row

In 2001 we beat Arsenal in the FA cup final, Bergers pass for Owen to win it is understated.....how is this 20 years ago?? Scary
