Could do with a prime Souness in our midfield.

To be fair he was exceptionally good and remember how tough he was, great pundit to and one of my favourites.

Today marks 29 years since our former captain Matt Busby passed on.

I know it's often overlooked that he played for us because of his managerial career with United but he still had a good career with us and is part of a long line of Scots who've given this club reasons to honour them. He also had a huge effect on future Liverpool managers like Phil Taylor and Bob Paisley during his time here.

Robbie Fowler re-signed for us on this day in 2006.

Still remains one of the greatest moments I've had as a Liverpool fan.

Nice touch by Rafa as it allowed us to give him the send off he deserved when he was fu**ed off by Houllier.

So still time then, must be all either off racially abusing Arab Reds on twitter or deciding whether to even bother supporting us because of the decision either to choose the capitalist bas**rds of owners or the still yet to make an actual bid sportswashing Arab state!!

On this day 2014, we did this to Everton

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBb8b3xgAkE&ab_channel=Playfootball

Only Hendo from that team is still at the club.

Start: Mignolet, Flanagan, Skrtel, Toure, Cissokho, Sterling, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge
Bench: Jones, Kelly, Smith, Moses, Alberto, Ibe, Aspas

Today also marks the day that Souness stepped down as manager, less than three years after taking charge as well as it being Carra's 45th birthday!

On this Day 16th July 1916, at 7.30 in the morning the whistle blew and the first men went over the top, and so began the start of The Battle of the Somme. British casualties are thought to be: 6,226 confirmed dead, wounded, or captured on this day alone. I will pick out one of the many: Eric Norman Franklin Bell, who was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross. He died on the first day displaying bravery that is almost unimaginable, his body was never found.

59 years ago we beat Arsenal 3-2 in a game that was the first ever match to shown on Match of the Day.

Think we may have found one in Szob.
Closest I’ve seen to Souness. Wait till he settles in. 👍

Might have to wait until he chins someone too mate 🤣🤣, I liken him more to Ray Kennedy, the way he just seems to glide across the surface, he has this ‘Nothing Fazes me’ aura about him, he has pace to burn and we are yet to see just how good the lad is, the signs are very good, and without going over the top, I think we’ll be the making of him, potentially world class, as I’ve alluded to before, Jürgen Pt two, is a Red Juggernaut revving the engines waiting to be unleashed,
Seriously, if you thought Klopp Pt 1 was exciting, wait til you see what he’s built this time, can anyone see what I’m seeing ??

      Longest serving player..19 years….1912-1915 and from 1919-1934…..467 appearances…..

      ……Sunrise…August 1893 in Belfast NI, ….Sunset….May 1959 (aged 65)

Elisha played a total of 430 games across his two spells , recommended by his Brother Billy because Blueshite decided he was too young at 19, our manager then was Tom Watson who signed him on 1st September 1912, he made his debut on Jan 1st 1913 Vs Newcastle at St James’s, in a 0-0 draw, World War One interrupted for four years, and his last was against Chelsea in a 2-0 defeat on the 21st February 1934…..c/o Wiki

Hands like shovels apparently, no gloves back then, using balls made of pig skin, heavy as cannon balls, especially when wet, it was a different game back then of course, but it was still 11 V 11 same as it’s always been.

      NOTE;

It’s great to take a look down memory lane, for me it’s a education, you learn more and more about your club and the characters that helped build its history, and you have a better understanding of what the club is about, and for me, even though I am a wool, you feel closer too, much better than you’re dreamed up world of reality games, you learn F**k all from them, except how to be a opinionated Arsehole and spill total pish about the club in real times you know F**k all about !!

If Sturridge could have stayed healthy....what a finisher he was.
