Great game for LFC. Steven was everywhere and the pressing was great. Good job from Kuyt (made the second goal) and great play from Bellamy.

Not sure how Jordan Henderson made it onto that list, and let alone people voted for him hehe...

Make yourselves known that has to be a wind up :lmao:

Craig Bellamy was without doubt man of the match last night, not only did he score the winning goal to get us to Wembley, he covered every blade of grass, made tackles, passes and ran richards ragged, standing ovation fully deserved.

Liverpool were fantastic last night after Kenny's pocket rocket after an abysmal performance against Bolton.

Only for Joe Hart who is without doubt Englands number one, what a keeper he is, Liverpool could have another 3 or 4 goals.

Does anyone think City will be fined for the hound of the Ref, at the Pen, after the pen and at half time?

      No I don't either.

That would entail the FA to take action against a team that played us.

      Nonsense.

I don't think they did hound the ref to be honest, that was just normal reactions, it's just Mancini and his comments after the match once again.

Nothing like when United players chased the ref round the pitch is it?

Once, OK, but 3 times about the same decision is hounding. The Ref never changes is mind.

Now if only we can play like we played yesterday against the lower end teams we would win the title. Hope it carries over and we take man utd,Perhaps having the owner show up was the difference, definately the team has a split personality. But wish we had 3 other players like craig bellemy, who shows up every game and gives 110%.

It was really nice to see the smile on the players faces last night. Pepe Reina was so happy!

King Kenny was so emotional and Rush, Hansen and Thompson were there as well.

I voted for Gerrard just to even it up a fraction ;D. In all seriousness I didn think Stevie was absolutely top drawer. He came within an inch of blocking De Yongs shot, and it was only his awareness in covering for Johnson which allowed him to get bypassed by Kolorov for the second. He tracked David Silva everywhere, and contributed going forward. Wonderful performance surpassed only by the turbo charged Bellers.

It's really odd that when we lose there are a number of posters all over the boards who you never see when we play well. Am I the only one who notices that?

In fairness they were unlucky with the Richards one, and we'd have had a moan in the same circumstance. I don't think the Dzeko one was a pen, but the important thing is we fully deserved to win in any case.

Totally agree mick, Liverpool were nothing short of fantastic last night, i think when man city scored there first goal a stat came up on t.v, it was their first shot, even the second was against the run of play.

We actually battered them from start to finish, and only Joe Hart kept it a respectable scoreline.

Does the FA have rules about not showing the highlights?

Euro Sport bored us with the Man City training and interview before the Carling Cup game. Now Balotelli four-game ban gets more mention than the Liverpool Win. All that crap about how he missed the Carling Cup game because he started serving his four-game ban. As if.........

FAPL New also did not show the highlight.

Wembley Final; Gerrard lifting the Cup; bright lights!!! I can see it all!

I remember that match well,it was3nil to us and pre match  Malcolm McDonald had been telling anyone who would listen how he was going to take us apart. He hardly touched the ball in the whole 90 minutes. We did indeed take Newcastle apart that day.We have earned the right to go to Wembley after beating City in the 2 legged semi final.

i didnt actually get to  see any of the match or goals til  years later as i was living in germany at the time(dad in air force) and they  didnt show it on german tv.had to  wait til we got back to the uk before i saw the goals.
listened to  it on  the radio though.
dont forget also alec lindsay had a great  goal disallowed too.

Still haven't watched the game (I'm downloading to watch it later), but I saw the goals and our 2nd was brilliant, loved Kuyt's work and the short passing between Glen and Craig.

What a night, my voice still hurts.

Fully deserved to win over the two legs, a bit of humility would be nice from Mancini. Thought the boys were great, especially with going behind twice on the night, they never let their heads drop.

Bellers was fantastic, he was everywhere, never gave their back 4/5 a second. Dirk was back to his old never give up style. Hendersons work when we didnt have the ball was fantastic. Stevie sat and dictated things and broke their game up, and i thought Agger and Skrtel were fantastic.

      Great night overall.

We're on the march with Kenny's army.............

The last time we made it in to a final was 2007 before we singed Torres. Now I don't want to be rude and all but who's going to say that to him.
