John Terry's Case Due Before Court
      Feb 01, 2012 10:42:07 am
      bbc news

                                           John Terry In Court

England football captain John Terry is due to have his case heard for the first time in court over whether
he used racist language in a football match.
The Chelsea captain is alleged to have made racist comments towards QPR player Anton Ferdinand
during a game on the 23rd October.
The Crown Prosecution Service said Mr Terry 31 was accused of racially a racially-aggravated public
                                order offence.
He has denied the charge and said he has campaigned against racism.

The FA might regret it's LFC phobia in crucifying Suarez when they are called upon to apply a comparable or more severe penalty on Terry, after all Luis' "offence" was not deemed serious enough to warrant an appearence in a court of law.

If they are to go by their own letter of the law that they applied to Suarez, then it will be a 4 game ban for abuse and doubled because it contained a racial element.

So I expect to see an 8 game ban nothing less.

Of course mate but as I inferred the charge can only be interpreted as being more severe having been taken out of the hands of the FA and deemed appropriate for legal proceedings. The CPS cannot call for any football penalties of course but the FA must let it be seen that their brand of justice is applied in the context the evidence presented.

Its a win win for the FA.

Terry found guilty - fined by the courts - FA take no action as its been dealt with.
Terry found innocent - FA take no action as courts have proved he is innocent and therefore has no case to answer.

John Terry will lead his country at Euro 2012 with his race-row court case adjourned until July 9.
Lawyers for Terry delivered a not guilty plea at the first court hearing in his prosecution for allegedly racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.

Court case: Anton Ferdinand (left) and John Terry

The Chelsea defender did not appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in central London, instead being represented by barrister George Carter-Stephenson QC.
In a statement, solicitors Grosvenor Law said: 'Mr Terry looks forward to the opportunity to clear his name.
'Mr Terry has consistently and resolutely maintained that his well publicised remarks were made in the belief that he was being accused of racist abuse by Mr Ferdinand.
'Mr Terry was shocked and disgusted by that accusation at the time. Mr Terry denies making any racist statement and will establish in court that he is not guilty of any such offence.
'Mr Terry has never racially abused another player in his entire career.'

Defence: George Carter-Stephenson QC (second right) leaves court

Interest: The was a big media presence at Westminster Magistrates Court
Prosecutors ruled before Christmas that Terry should be charged with a racially-aggravated public order offence over video footage which appears to show him shout an offensive comment at QPR defender Ferdinand.
Terry, 31, who faces a maximum fine of £2,500 if convicted, has denied making the alleged slur during a Barclays Premier League match at Loftus Road on October 23 last year.
The public gallery of Court 1 in the modern court building was packed with journalists for the hour-long hearing, which covered the timing of the trial and arrangements for witnesses.

In charge: Terry will keep hold of the England captaincy
Mr Carter-Stephenson handed District Judge Howard Riddle a letter from Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay, who appealed for the trial to be delayed until after his players' domestic and international footballing commitments are over for the season.
Judge Riddle had hoped the case could be heard in March but accepted that other Chelsea players would not be able to appear as witnesses until the end of the football season.
Setting the new date, the magistrate took into account Chelsea's fixtures, Euro 2012, pre-season tours and the Olympics. The final of Euro 2012 takes place on July 1.
The trial is expected to last five days.

An absolute F***ing disgrace, any ethnic members of the squad should blank the right wing system out of hand.
Refusing to shake his hand as Anton Ferdinand did and his brother Rio has threatened to do indicates how far upto his neck Terry is in the racist scheme of things, they most certainly think there is a case to answer.
What a reflection to present to the rampant racists darn sarf.

Is it any F***ing wonder we've waited 23 years for justice for the 96 with these corrupt bigots calling the shots?

The courts have said it's because players won't have time to give evidence during the season.

We all have to work, it's tough sh*t.

Even for Rio Ferdinand. He will probably pull out of the Euros now. He may be a Manc but he should not be out in the position of playing in possibly his last major tournament alongside that c**t.

John Terry has some neck! The video could not be any more obvious.

He'll probably have some back spasms or something, Rio's F***ing finished.

We can't have England's brave lionheart missing a huge amount of games leading upto the Euros can we?

This country and its football teams captain are sh*te. Every day it seems I dislike it more.

Daz and his trouble, Misty and her trouble. Piss takers, drug dealers, bent politicians judges and bizzies. I'm sick of the lot of it.
