      PS Vita
      Feb 18, 2012 05:45:31 pm

So, any of you guys getting one? Its released on Wednesday.

I didn't really like the old PSP but this one looks amazing, the visuals are stunning for an handheld. The games look just like they do on the 360/PS3. Will be nice to play FIFA in bed without leaning to the side to see it on the TV xD

I just pre ordered mine from ShopTo, Im getting the PS Vita Wi-Fi version, FIFA Football and a 16GB Memory card, came to £268.70 all together so not too bad.

Maybe in the future. Sony will probably release a slim version and there should be price drops, and I'm stil enjoying my PSP. So no rushing from me to buy it.

It's the best gaming handheld out there right now but Sony is going to seriously loose money on this. Sales have been extremely dissapointing in Japan, after a decent first days opening sales have really declined and it's being outsold by the 3DS and PSP, and that's even after they've lowered the price. And take into consideration there that Nintendo  been making serious losses on the 3DS too. I think there being so many decent phones and tablets out there that people game on doesn't help sales either.

Smartphones and tablets have destroyed the market for these.
Some great games now available on both.
I think this has become very much a kids market.

Never been a handheld console fan. I know it's portable and all but I still like playing in front a TV with the console.

Only handheld console I truly enjoyed was Pokemon on the Gameboy colour ;D

      Pokemon :')

From my 21 years on this planet, at least 1 whole year amount of time must have been spent playing Pokemon games.... I think I had something like 3000 hours on Pokemon Red, nostalgia mode activated...

I first knew about them in 1999 .. I remember collecting all 151 pokemons for my Pokemon Red.

Started playing them on Game Boy and I played in the Trading Card Game competitions. Still made up I beat this guy who was Malaysia's and Asia's #1 and World #4.

I retired in 2001 but I still have some cards, though. And .. Charizard will forever be my favourite!

I tell you, they should come up with Pokemon for the PS3 :/ but Nintendo .. hmph ...

I was going to mention this but you've beaten me to the post.

Smartphone apps have ruined any chance of handheld consoles becoming truly successful. Especially when you can carry your phone anywhere, download apps for much less than a PS Vita game would cost
and a smartphone app is a lot more interactive in comparison.

Although, admitted, a few years ago I did enjoy playing football manager on a handheld console .

This will determine whether or not the Vita succeeds.
      At €40 it's not cheap.
