What is with that "Tell me ma tell me ma" thing ?

It's the scouse re-working of "Que Sera Sera", ma refers to mum, mother.

"what a waste of money" and "you know what you are", well they both scored so Brighton next time you come to Anfield, I advise you to shut the F**k up cos you've just made yourselves look like tw*ts.

Was funny hearing "you know what you are" and the holding hands thing back at them though.

Second half I was really happy with but it was a bit frustrating in the first half - credit to Brighton.

Have to say, I thought Downing was anonymous in the first half. Played well in the second half like but after the performance he put in against the mancs, I was expecting him to come out the blocks flying. Too inconsistent for me.

But hey, lovely win at home and into the quarter finals. That'll do for me. I'm not gonna start moaning.

Very happy with the shift the players put in today. Thought Carroll was MOTM for me. Scored, set up a goal and worked hard. He's had a really good month has Andy. And Downing did really well today. Very happy for him after the disappointment of last week.

Only thing that I was annoyed with was the cheap shot songs from Brighton.
Once I heard that I hoped we humiliated them.
      Delighted for Carroll.
I'm sure Suarez will get sharper.
      Downing played well.

Couldn't believe what was happening. Got a streem working and it crashed at the vital time for the first three goals. Saw bugger all and had to listen on the radio. Not selected a mom obviously and am now waiting for highlights to come on. As has been said over the weeks, someone was always in for a good thrashing, was hoping it could have been against one of our prem rivals. I know, no pleasing some ;D anyway, dead pleased with the result and looking forward to two finals now. Sounds like there were a few good performances from previously somewhat dissapointing players so let's hope they keep the momentum up now.

Pretty good win for us. The scoreline probably wasn't a true reflection, but we did have 15 shots on target! Overall, I'm happy with the performance, and it was great to see Carroll and Suarez get on the scoresheet (and Bridcutt ;))

In all honesty, I'm surprised our 2-man midfield didn't come back and bite us. Gerrard+Adam as a pairing without a DM is dangerous. LuaLua's free kick was brilliant.

I jokingly voted for Bridcutt, but I have to give my MOTM to Andy Carroll. Great performance by him. Just stop whining to the ref so much haha

Overall, I was happy. We win 6-1, which maybe flattered us considering there were a few own goals. ;D Andy was fantastic and, for me, was easily our MoM. We kept the ball well and seemed to take Brighton seriously and not think they are a walk over. Tad disappointed with Luis' display. Gave the ball away a bit too much, especially first 20mins. Suppose it's almost to be expected with everything that went in. Hope it doesn't affect him too badly.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. Next up, Stoke!

This might sound weird for a 6 1 win but..

Me best moment today, Stevie bursts into the box with the ball, loses the ball in the box, Stevie is on his knees, Brighton break out, Andy Carroll works back covers Stevie and wins the ball back. Fooking yes thats my Liverpool.

Going places and yes I will base that on Carroll doing that

The striker is the first defender.  Think I noted somewhere earlier that was the best tackle in the game.

Agree about Luis. He took a while to settle into the game. Having said that, later on he went on some mesmerising runs and tormented the Brighton defence.

I had a feeling he would not score his pen but at least he got a goal.

Absolutely delighted with the scoreline and the response to what was a sh*t week.

Glad to hear the likes of Downing and Carroll working hard. This is an ideal mental boost ahead of a cup final come on you redmen!!

Nice assessment of our performance on the ITV highlights show.

Gordon Strachan was actually very good and complementary.

Thought we played pretty well. The 2 man midfield (with Adam yet again one of the 2) was solid enough, while up top Carroll and Suarez are beginning to get something going. As for LuaLua, I thought he was very impressive and we've signed far worse players than him a few times over the years. He had pace, a trick and came off either foot.

As for the Brighon fans I thought they were a classier lot then that but they can go and do one.

Chants to provoke Suarez and Carroll were out of order well justified with 3 own goals though.

Embarrased like the rest of us.Before you gain the right to judge, you really do have to,have achieved something,on par with us,otherwise you will come across as mindless gobshites.Compare that to the beleaguered Pompey fans, who are proper supporters, whose club is being destroyed, like we almost were.

Downing finally delivered an assist for carroll, suarez and andy connected well for the goal, stevie got another good run out, carra showed his class, we finally got a shed load of goals and we are playing stoke @ home in the next round.
All is peachy and roll on the anfield of the south next sunday.
      Happy day.
