      Assassin's Creed 3
      Mar 03, 2012 09:18:25 pm
      Scheduled to release this November/October.

Looking forward to it even though I'm yet to play AC Revelations. Currently playing AC Brotherhood and loving the game. Enjoyed AC2 as well but AC1 was just boring.

Box art itself looks epic ..

I"m with you mate can't wait for this release. I'm surprised at the scheduled release though.. Expected it to be earlier than that considering the apparent plot

EDIT: I assumed from the ending of ACR that this would follow on quite closely from it, which unfortunately it seems won't. Also the setting of colonial America doesn't thrill me as much as previous locations. We'll have to wait and see I suppose

Looks pretty cool, is Desmond still involved?
I reckon an AC movie(s) would be pretty cool - following Desmond's story and the games in order. What do you think?

Yes Desmond returns and more platforming based gameplay will be involved when he's 'out of Animus'.

I think Desmond Miles is still involved but it's not Ezio Auditore anymore.

It's some guy name Ratohnaké:ton who adopts Connor as his name.

Personally I think you might take the role of a native american in this game, by looking at the screenshots. The stories of Ezio and Altair have been told so they won't be in this game, however Desmond will be.

Is this the final installment as Desmond was meant to save the world in 2012.

That's what I meant by my first post. Was trying not to give that away from AC Revelations in case some people hadn't finished it. I hope it is about Desmond and the end of the world as suggested in Revelations cause that story looks interesting. I expected this game to focus on Desmond far more - perhaps even as the main character with occasional animus trips but apparently not

I'm really hoping someone who has developed Assassins Creed can whack a few Quantum Leap references in, bugger it, make a Quantum Leap game, a non-violent AC, putting right what once went wrong. :)

It was already talked about. According to various reports Sony and Ubisoft have a deal worked out, but a lot was said of Ubisoft's high level of control over the project, and speculation about whether it'll make it to film is still going. From what I can see it's still happening, at this point.

Till then, here's a Bollywood rip off :D

Really can't wait for this. Didn't think i'd be excited to see it set in 18th century North America, but I am really excited for this.

Once AC2 was done, the team that worked on that was immediately tasked with creating AC3. If the difference between AC1 and AC 2 are anything to go by, this will be massive. Ubisoft's A team have been working on this, they've had something like 3 times the budget of previous games and they've been working on it for 3 years. That's a formula for one sick game.

Also, from what i've heard, it'll use the same sort of graphics engine that was used in Uncharted 3.

      AC2 was an easy platinum.

AC Brotherhood and Revelations would be as well if they had no online trophies. I've got all the trophies for AC Brotherhood but just not the online ones.

Even though they are slighty easier via boosting, it's still too hard and too tedious. Meh, I'm happy with getting as many trophies as I possibly can already actually.

Damn you haha I wasn't awake 2 hours ago.
I'm excited too, the fact that the developers seem so excited about the new engine can only be a good thing. I was hoping however for more of a Desmond influence on this story although it seems that won't be the case despite the ending of Revelations appearing to lead it that way

Nope .. I did buy the Steelbook case separately, though.

I'll most probably get that Join or Die Edition for 50 bucks which comes with some medallion and George Washington's notebook.

Not sure if I'll preorder it, though, because I may not be in the UK next study year anymore.

I like the look of the figurine so might get the Freedom package. Wish they released AC around about now in the year rather than late October/November when all the other good games are released, I've got nothing good at the moment

Steelbook case is basically the game case some games give as collector's items.

If I'm not mistaken, I think if you buy the Freedom Edition, you'll get a Steelcase.

I'm kinda a sucker for steelcases. They look really nice.

That feature of passing through interiors is a great feature, adds a little something extra to the game, sets it apart from the old ones.

I posted the same question in the Brotherhood thread but...

I bought Assassins Creed when it first came out. I thought it was brilliant for a while but then got very repetitive so I lost interest. Since then, I haven't played any of the games in the series or even watched them being played.

Now I'm not going to fork out for AC3 and I'm not bothered about trying to follow the story from AC.

That being the case, which is the best to buy, AC2, Brotherhood or Revelations?

I would usually just assume that the latest is the best to get but I have no idea how Brotherhood and Revelations play compared to AC1 and 2.

I ordered the Join or Die edition using the extra cash left I had in UK. My mate is coming to Malaysia in December along with it.

Yes .. they either don't have it here or it's on some ridiculous pricing.

Went to midnight launch toget it and played for 2 hours or so last night.
Considering how excited I've been for it and the unfair hype I've given it I was disappointed so far. The start is mostly introduction stuff and from where I'm at it seems that the game is very structured with not a lot of room to explore, perhaps later in the game this will change.

Also, when playing a mini-game (I forget the name but you have to get 3 pieces in a row) I've found that its glitched ( I think) as it won't let me place a piece in order to obtain a row, hence I can only lose.

      Same as what I've read:
      Quote
      IGN Review
Assassin’s Creed III’s pacing is a source of frustration for the first third or so of the story – it takes too long to open up and show its hand. Right at the beginning of Connor's story you're kept on a short leash; your movements are wholly dictated by the plot for a good three hours or so, which is disappointing when you've had a taste of how open the world can be. It's a definite low point that lasts too long, and the game only really recovers when it sets you free again to explore at your own pace.

Not sure whether to get this, but it does look good.

Starting to get really into it, up to Sequence 8 but I've mostly roamed around doing side quests. It apparently is a 50-60hour campaign but I wouldn't have done more than 6hours of the campaign so far (about 9hours roaming) so hopefully theres loads left!

Just finished it, really enjoyed it but I see what people are saying about the disappointing ending. Without wanting to spoil anything the Desmond part finished ok, the Connor part was disappointing and so I must admit I am left feeling slightly disappointed by the end...

The game however has been thoroughly enjoyable and I'll continue going though side quests and the like as well as starting multiplayer over the next few days before Black Ops 2 comes out. Once I got to sequence 9 I barely did anything other than the campaign after earlier taking my time through the game as the plot had me too immersed!

Completed AC3, I am disappointed with this one. Story is average, extras/side missions are pointless. I been barely able to play it since I got it aswell been working, then I completed the other AC games three days after I got them like this aswell

This is set during a time of heavy conflict and towards the end gets so boring. Plus completed main story and a bunch of side missions in just over 10 hours..

I have to admit I don't know where they were getting a 40 hour campaign from, took me about 25 hours to complete campaign and HEAPS of side missions (especially the ship ones)

Not that impressed by the singleplayer, haven't even finished it but been really enjoying the multiplayer, playing alot of Assassinate.

None of you skipped the credits did you? There is an epilogue part after them and you unlock a trophy/achievement, the credits are something like 10 minutes though with no option to skip xD
