      Let's hope Hendo's in the middle. I'd be happy with a 4-3-3.

Strongest bench I've seen for a while.  Agree with PepeReina25 - be interesting to see Henderson if he is used correctly in the central midfield with Kuyt and Bellamy on the wings.

Also be interesting if Sunderland play their typical brand of dogs of war football.  If so, Adam best be careful he doesn't get himself sent off.

Attacking team that, not sure why Coates would start ahead of Carra though! slight knock maybe? we could do with Carra's experience!

Happy enough with that team. Confident of a good win 2-0 . Nice to see Coates getting his chance, just hope he takes it. I think the forward line does show how desperately we need a new striker especially if Carroll is going to continue as our plan B.

Hopefully Gerrard will get a little run out in the second half , rather than having to come on to try to save the game.

Pretty decent team to be fair. Hopefully Cambell doesnt go up against Coates for pace and Skrtel takes him on with Coates keeping tabs on Bendtner.

Lotta quality in their midfield aswell so Spearo will have his hands full.

Colback and Gardner in the middle for them.

If we can't run over that midfield, I've got nothing to say.

Only way Coates can learn. Great opportunity for him this.

Like that front three, if it is a front three.

I'd rather have Coates play. I don't see how Carra's experience would factor in today too much. If anything, might want to use him Carra for the Merseyside Derby instead, you know?

Coates! Yes lad, go on take your chance.

Yet again, it's a good team if it doesn't line up as a 4-4-2. Hope it's 4-3-3 and Adam and Henderson can take chances to move forward.

You have to remember Coates has played games in difficult cirumstances away from home and passed with flying colours (e.g. Stoke away, Chelsea away).

Figures I guess, I think Coates is still going through his "early Lucas" stage though!

I, for one, am delighted to see Coates in the starting XI. Great opportunity for the lad to stake his claim for the spot. Positive to see Bellers in. Tad disappointed to see big Andy dropped as felt he was doing well but we shall see.
