If that's the team, and I know it'll never happen, but I'd stick Hendo in the middle and Gerrard out on the right.

Be an interesting test, because if Carroll wasn't able to score from Gerrard's crosses, then he'd never make it here! ;)

Could work, though! They'll never come flying out of the blocks, Spearing could cover the defence, letting Henderson a bit of freedom...

      pointless dreaming

Said something very similar in the Maxi thread.

      Wouldn't mind seeing a 4-3-3 if I'm honest.

Well, talking of Maxi, he should be bloody starting anyway!

Getting the feeling he's either pissed off Kenny (very unlikely), or maybe being treated with kid gloves (on his way in the summer, not risking him?).

Hendo (and I do like him) should be dropped because he isn't doing enough. I just feel continuing to play him, despite the obvious faith it shows, it working against him, as the worse he performs, the higher the pressure is on him.

Just a couple of games on the bench, then ease him back in.

At least Maxi has made the bench this time, agree I'd prefer to see him starting he inter links very well with Suarez

I feel sorry for Maxi and Shelvey. And that is coming from someone who was a big critic of Maxi last season.

Well, anyway, this is a very decent lineup. The lads just need to perform now and justify the King's faith on them.

      Come on Reds!!

Ya I'm hoping it is not a flat 4-4-2 with Henderson on the right

Henderson seems to play every week no matter what.

Could potentially be Carroll though the middle with Suarez and Downing at inside left and right and a midfield 3 of Spearing, Hendo and Gerrard. I'd much prefer that shape but suepct it's the one you have suggested.

Could be a long night if it's a flat 4-4-2, would prefer Suarez coming in from out wide and Gerrard free to do whatever he wants from a central area.

Carra better be on the ball tonight too, don't think Coates did that much wrong to deserve being dropped even if it is a derby. Hope Bellamy isn't injured as well, could well just be a complete rest ahead of the quarter final.

      Re: Bellamy.

Suggestions that there has been some fall out following the Cardiff game.  Sat with the press at half time of the Arsenal game and clearly had a cob on at being substituted the other day against Sunderland.

That's the latest on the Merseyside rumour mill.   Of course - he could just be injured! ;)

LFC have on average scored 6 goals when Gerrard,Suarez and Carroll have started together.

Absolutely chuffed for the big lad. Lets hope he has recovered from the terrible performance at Wembley and is ready to put a real shift in and i quite fancy him to bag a brace.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bellamy came out and said he knew he might not see a lot of game time. I appreciate he thinks he deserves it though at the moment.

LFC have on average scored 6 goals when Gerrard,Suarez and Carroll have started together.

It's an amazing fact this is only the second time they have all started together.  Shows how much we have suffered with injuries to two of them and suspensions to the other.

The disruption to our back four could cost us more than any tinkering about with midfield. Will we see three in there? I suspect and certainly hope so. With our centre halves maybe playing deeper, due to Jamie's lack of pace, we'll need to someone to sit and hold.

F**k it... let's get stuck into these sh*te-hawks from the off.
