Muamba Has 'Brief' Chat With Coyle

Bolton manager Owen Coyle says he has held a "brief" conversation with Fabrice Muamba for the
first time since the midfielder had a cardiac arrest.
The 23 year old was left fighting for his life  at the London Chest Hospital after collapsing during
Wanderers FA Cup tie against Tottenham on Saturday.
"There's still a long way to go but that's really positive," said Coyle.
"Where we all were on Saturday night, at this stage I would certainly never have envisaged this
                               improvement".

Really is miraculous, because I have to admit fearing the worst.

I thought that if he survived, he'd surely be in a terrible state, perhaps handicapped, but it's looking like he's going to fully recover.

Wonderful work from all the medical staff at the match and at the hospital.

I also feared the worst in the immediate aftermath. The news about him just gets better and better.

Fabrice Muamba was 'dead' for 78 minutes - Bolton doctor

Fabrice Muamba was "in effect dead" for 78 minutes following his on-pitch collapse, Bolton Wanderers' club doctor Jonathan Tobin has revealed.
But Dr Tobin said he had been amazed by the 23-year-old's recovery so far.

In an emotional interview, Dr Tobin said: "We were fearing the worse and didn't think we'd get the recovery we had. It's incredible.
"It is still very, very early days but to see the improvements we have is a testament to everybody involved."

      Collapses on pitch.
      No ambulance to save him.
      Breaking on twitter.

      RIP

A reminder, if needed, how lucky Muamba was.

      Just read this bit...

      From the Bolton club doctor.

Two hours after regaining consciousness I whispered in his ear " What's your name?" and he said " Fabrice Muamba", I said "I hear you're really good at football" and he said " I try". I had a tear in my eye.

Reading more about it you realise how lucky the lad is.

      Keep improving lad.

Interesting article regarding the report that Fabrice was "dead" for 78 minutes, overjoyed though I was by his miraculous recovery I did have reservations about the claim. The article throws some light on the situation.

I'm very pleasantly shocked that he is doing well. I thought sure he was going to be a vegetable after that ordeal. So happy for him!!! Hopefully he fully recovers.  :) :) :)

Last word that he was on the road to recovery but still has a long road ahead before he is back to normality.

Said on the radio this morning that he had a good weekend but still a long way to go. They are happy with his progress though.

Some of the Bolton players are going to visit him before the Spurs replay tomorrow. I hope it inspires them.

      Glad he's getting better.

It was nice to see how the whole world got together in times like this, like Real Madrid even showing their support.

      And Barca!

Very glad to hear he is sitting up and eating.  I hope he gets well soon and is able to play some role in the game in the near future.

Also think Bolton have conducted themselves especially well during all this.
