Sterling was electric when on the ball but I'm beginning to wonder if the concern with him (ie, why he hasn't stepped up) is that his movement off the ball isn't good enough. He was barely in the game second half as the only way he made himself available for a pass was to drop back and go wide, meaning that when he did get it, he immediately had a man or two to get past.

I wouldn't get too worried mate. All wide players (no matter how good they are) have phases in matches where they can't get on the ball and quite often the blame lies with other players when it happens. Plus on the movement side it's something he will improve on as he gets oler I should think.
