I'd have gone for wholesale changes if it was me. Pointless either of Gerrard or Suarez playing here IMHO, give Robinson a go at left back too. I think we're done for fourth, may as well go all out for the cup and have a look at a few other options (Coates for example ought to play IMHO).

 No I'm not advocating "scrapping the rest of the league season" but we had a hard game at the weekend and we've got some hard games coming up. For this particular midweek fixture I'd have rested Suarez and Gerrard, but obviously that's just me. As for it not being "the Liverpool way" I can remember many times over the last decade or so when we have fielded weakened teams with our eyes on other matches. Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it doesn't. Here I think it does, as we really ought to be able to win anyway.

I defo wouldn't rest anyone tonight they are fighting for survival it will be
tough enough tonight even with Stevie & Luis.

Mark Hughes has a decent record against us let's make it as tough as we can for him..

The players need to earn their spot in the semis so if you dont play well your out as it always should be at Liverpool
