Dissapointed to not see Coates, perfect chance to get him playing time in the EPL if he ever needs to come in next season to cover for anyone. Would do him a world of good!

edit: Also no Sterling even on the bench

Sincerely hope this is not a single man up front with no midfield support like I witnessed the first half against Wigan.

Good to see flanno and jonjo in there, great for experience is kelly injured, i would have put our south american defender in there instead of carra though, and its a shame stirling is not in.Is dagger still recovering from something , again?
Kuyt's on good form, and probably been one of our better performers of late

I'm guessing the thinking behind Carra starting ahead of Coates is so he can help Flanagan.

We have no ball winner in midfield, so may struggle there but villa are so bad expect us to win.

Cant see the logic of playing Carragher either

This is like the fifth match in the row where Carra is starting. Can't understand this decision. Flanno is not a debutant anymore.

I think Carra has struggled recently (most of the season when played in all honesty) so I would have prefered Coates.

Carroll, I probably wouldn't even have on the bench, but the media would have a field day if he was missing.

Great to see Agger on the bench, hope he gets a 20mins run out once we are two or three goals up.

Hope we have enough defensive cover in midfield without Spearing.

Should win this game comfortably if we play anything like we can. Going for 3-1 today.

Dont like the team. Not because of its ability to win the match (they should be putting AV to the sword without ptoblems), but because I tought we woyuld be testing players and actually STARTING OUR PRE-SEASON now!!! Perfect time to turn things around and start experimentinf for next year

Have to agree with those who say Coates should have started and very disappointed to see Sterling not even on the bench. Good to see Kuyt back in the starting lineup.
A good win by a couple of goals and a good performance should set us up in the right frame of mind for next week.

another shocking team sheet from Kenny. It should be about earning your place in the side. It dosent matter how sh*te Carra and Hendo are playing, they still start. A F.. joke, I expect the worst seeing them start.

In fairness to kenny we have a cup semi final next week he wants the first teamers to get a boost of confidence and hopefully theyl get that today
