      Best cover:

Glasvegas - Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime

The worst has to be Stairway to Heaven by Rolf Harris.

I like that Glasvegas one and they also do a good version of Be My Baby.

Seeing 'Worst' in the title reminded me of this beauty I seen a while back, can't remember where.

      Horrific.

I've heared some really great covers (mostly metal, or at least rock versions) and some really bad ones, there's one going about now, Hurt (originally by Nine inch nails) covered by Jonny Cash some time ago, quite well IMO, but the one about now I think its Leona Lewis (sp) might not be but its terrible.
Iam a big fan of covers if the artist covering it makes it there own, its like having another persons interpritation of a song you like. Placebo's cover of Running up the hill is one that stands out to me.
Theres always Metallica's Cover's album to go through, and Cradle Of Filth do a few good ones, or for funnies there's a band called Ten Masked Men, and they do things to songs you'll never thought possible :P

I'm not sure what anyone else thinks and think I read that some members of Floyd didn't mind this but I hate this cover of one of my all time favourite songs.

Actually, I don't mind it at all and the original Pink Floyd version is one of my favourite tracks. That cover did take a while to grow on me, though.

Johnny Cash has to be the master of covers (though his own songs are boss too!):

Nick Cave's Mercy Seat (Love Nick's own live versions though the actual Bad Seeds' album recording is definitely the weakest version) In Cave's own words "Like all the songs he does, he made it his own. He's a great interpreter of songs - that's part of his genius. These are the things that can't be taken away from you." Nick called it a personal highpoint: "'It doesn't matter what anyone says, Johnny Cash recorded my song.'"

Johnny Cash - The Mercy Seat

They actually went on to do a brilliant duet of Hank Williams' 'I'm so lonesome I could cry' together.

Johnny Cash w/ Nick Cave - I'm so lonesome I could cry

      Nine Inch Nails' Hurt

      Johnny Cash - 'Hurt"

Won't post it because I've posted enough but Nick Cave did a cracking cover of Cash's 'Long Black Veil' too.

Best cover for me has to be Metallicas version of Whiskey in the jar. I know it's not technically a Thin Lizzy song as it's an old Irish song from centurys ago but it's brilliant

metallica - whiskey in the jar video oficial

Worst cover has to be Mileys Smells like teen spirit. F***ing butchered it

Best cover I think personally has to be the live Oasis version of The Beatles' Helter Skelter on there live album Familiar To Millions. It's the last track on the album. The album is recorded in Wembley Stadium except this track which ended a gig on that same tour in the US. Noel's vocals sound amazing and the band sounds loud and rocking.

Worst cover has probably got to be The Feeling doing Time Is Running Out by Muse. Dreadful in oh so many ways!! :f_steam:

Best version of this is the Lennon cover.

John Lennon stand by me lyrics

One time, in my opinion, the cover is better than the original.

Came across this a while back.

Never thought to much about Robyn's original until it kept playing on a music playlist where I worked a few years back and it's actually a very good lyric.

      Really like this cover.
