although I must state that it all seems a little too pat for the family issues to be the reason.

Maybe Chang just bit off more than he can chew, after all the UK media is very unlike the US media when it comes to chucking sh*t around like a vexed monkey.

I think you may be right on both counts; 'family reasons' (nah not for anyone with a brain) and he did bite off more than he could chew; becoming a bit of a tool along the way.

Our 'Human Resources Department' need a revamp too, in my opinion; their only answer to their own 'errors in judgment' seems to be to sack folk. Someone in there needs to start accepting responsibility pretty sharpish.

He's gone now anyhow so any word on who's got the vacant post or are 'they' still trawling this site for suitable candidates?  :f_tongueincheek:

They'd do better to get in someone who actually knows what the media in the UK are like, because I think that was Changs biggest problem: a lack of knowledge about the cu*ts in the press he would be dealing with over here.

But he was born in the UK and attended University there, and reported on the PL for a fairly large company albeit in the states, surely he would have some sort of idea.

Wow that was fast, another poor appointment by the club

I think it's time to give this role to a club legend, someone with deep affiliation for the club.

Is it possible that Chang has left because of his family problems after the storm ruined his home ?

I highly doubt it. I worked in HR for 2 years and everytime we wanted to terminate an employee we gave him an option to resign (force resignation), his resignation letter would go as ''personal problems''. This is an HR stunt, same with Comolli

Do people think it was correct from FSG to let him go ?

Being born in the UK and attending Uni here wouldn't really give you a slightest clue about how the media work here. They're ferocious! You have to smooch your way in with the outer clique before you make any ground on what's acceptable and what's going to get you in trouble. It's like they're all (apart from a select few) fed on and endeavor to be like someone from the Goodfellas or Casino movies. You can literally smell the egos. The further down south you go, the worse the smell gets.

And reporting about the English league from America - or mostly to America - is a bit like looking through a telescope and telling Mr Spoon on Button Moon what colour bra his missus is wearing.

Pardon the analogy - I'm not being patronising - but what I'm trying to say is Swab has hit the nail bang on the head. And I think AZPatriot, that your questioning of Swab was probably on the same level - if not better! - than the thinking behind our owners in giving Jen the job.

The cracks are showing. This Chang thing has put egg all over the owners' faces. They HAVE to redeem themselves soon otherwise there's gonna be murder. (not literally - in other words there'll be more hassle and the focus will slip from football once again).

Ya George I knew who he was. Redman on here is friendly with him. He one of the posters on here whose opinion I respect the most. Real knowledgeable lad on the game.

I gave you an interaction I had with the man who gives a F**k where it was. But it turns out in was on the place that eventually cost him his job. You are an unbelievably patronizing person George.

I think it was a poor appointment don't you. Did I think it was a good appointment at the time no. So what the F**k are you going on about.

Looks like you are just angling for a row as usual.

Chang was very high regarded in his line of work. Both in the UK & in the States. He had associations with TAW & Rafa prior to taking up his role of DoF & was also a supporter of the club himself. This wasn't a random bloke appointed off the street, and at the time I personally thought it was a clever appointment, judging by the comments at the beginning of the thread, so did most people. If people didn't, they should of said so, hindsight is a fantastic thing, & we can all say "I said this then" in the event of a dick measuring contest.

Anyway, for reasons unknown to himself, he decided to go all 'Don Corleone' with a moment of madness involving that parody account. Lets be honest, no-one would be uttering a word about his tenure, or his appointment had he not been an absolute idiot with the Duncan Jenkins sh*te (I don't buy that rubbish about his family). Ultimately that one absurd decision has not only cost him his job, its shamed himself and the club.

      C'est la vie.

We have a match tomorrow by the way.

After the recent disasters in the transfer windows and being taken for a ride, I quite liked the dark side and mafiosie type attitude that he brought. But hey ho he's gone and we move on.

Did he actually do anything for the club ,as far as i am aware , and some may correct me , he did fck all but embarrass himself and the club ,well we really need that kind of person on board , as for the person above him well he needs fcking up the arse as well. For too long now we have had employees of the club who know fck all about the club and dont have its interests at heart ,dragging us down ,there are reds on here who could do a better pr job than some of the fckers employed by lfc , sort it fcking out Fsg because patience is wearing thin on all fronts.

It does seem that he did nothing but embarrass himself and the club while we're talking about embarrassing the club who by the way have issued the mandatory statement regarding ''mutual consent and family reasons'' -
       Who appointed Chang?
Why is their mistake being foisted once more on LFC?
Since FSG pulled us from the brown stuff little has happened to promote any optimism whatever.

As I've said numerous times in here already, Chang is primarily responsible for giving access to fan sites and publications, hence why The Anfield Wrap is given a spot at all of the press conferences, and why RAWK, TAW and others were granted exclusive interviews with Brendan and Lucas. Pretty much the first thing he did as Chief of Communications (actually before he officially took over the role) was to get in touch with those sites and talk to them about granting access.

Which makes his antics and subsequently forced apology and ultimately his leaving all the more sad. It was necessary though.

The title of his role makes it even more embarrassing in view of his subsequent departure (by mutual agreement) for verbally abusing a fan.

You would hope to God that this is just a scary coincidence.

These tweets are prior to his appointment at the club.

Can you imagine if he had a role in transfer dealings?

Most of which 95% of journalists don't have. He should have put his Liverpool salary on them transfers happening. Might have made enough to cover the rest of his contract.
