So unless I'm looking at this wrong, with what we are getting for him on the fee, it's basically a wash? We have to pay his wages but we use the fee for that so we take him off our wage bill completely. I suppose that's something.

Seems like Aquilani may finally have gone?

3 year contract, £4million euro fee, Liverpool to pay half his wages for two years

So we get 4million euros for him, but have to pay him 3.4million euros

We should have hung on for the bag of pork scratchings

I actually think that under the circumstances it's quite a good deal for us. We move on.

      This defies logic!!!
Anyone in any occupation who doesn't perform to a satisfactory standard is in breach of contractual stipulation and is sacked off, kaputt, off you pop. What is the F***ing difference with bollocks here??
Had off good style from day one and he fucks LFC for another two F***ing years while doing the business for another team.

If I'm reading it right, we've got rid of a waste of space player who was going to cost us 6.8 million Euros over the next two years to have kicking around the gaff. Instead of that, we've got ourselves a 600K euro payoff and we haven't got to put up with his bullsh!t anymore. Looks like a good deal to me.

Give it a couple of months and it'll be Fiorentina who'll be onto the rozzers. Don't lose that reciept for f***s sake, keep it in the top drawer by the telly.

Totally agree. The only thing wrong with this deal is we should have done it 18 months ago and saved ourselves 5 million euros. The fee we paid for this waster was gone and never to be recovered the moment the ink had dried, the focus should have been trying to save ourselves paying his wages for ever.

An absolute nightmare of a transfer and baffling terms that we've let him leave on.

We have to pay half his wages for the next 2 years? Christ almighty.

      Glad this is almost over.

Fair enough but that doesn't mean we aren't paying his wages because we are. We are using money from Fiorentina that could have gone on transfers to pay for wages for a player we don't even have.

      Ridiculous.
