Euro 2012 draft comp - discussion thread

You're picking a fantasy team of players who were at the Euros this year, along with 2 wildcard rounds (that are explained in the actual draft), then I'm assuming there'll be a tournament which will be decided by voting threads?

So, if I'm right, this is what I think it is:

We'll be "drafting" fantasy teams from players at this year's European Championships, save for 2 wildcard rounds. Each of us will pick starting XIs (with subs?), filling them out how we best see fit (formation, tactics, etc.), and from there a tournament will be formed where we "justify" our teams and forum members vote on the best.

Neat idea in practice, but difficult when drafters are inactive

Likewise Higgy and I don't even remember saying I was taking part.

But if someone can shed some light on what we are supposed to do I'll have a go.

Never said I would either, but sure it'll be a bit of craic once we get our heads wrapped round it

I caught this competition before it was full and didn't put my name in the hat because the thought of it made my head hurt and after reading the full description of the game my head nearly exploded, unfortunately I failed my complicated game exam.

Basically is it like picking teams when you were at school? Just imagine every Euro 2012 player lined up in front of you and we all pick one at a time. If someone else picks a player you wanted it's tough luck. And then after a while a bunch of class lads walk in and say they fancy a kick about so you get to pick one of the legends. And just keep going until everyone has a team.

Sorry if that sounds childish but that's the best way I can understand it.

EDIT: Then just the other rules of don't pick two players from the same team one after the other and you can't have more than 3 players from one country including legends. So really you can't pick Spain, Spain Spain. Or Spain, Germany, Spain, Germany, Spain, Germany, Spain, Germany for your full team.

There will be 16 people in the competition.Once everybody is confirmed i will put all the names in a hat to decide who gets to pick in what order whoever picks last will get two picks and it will work it's way back in that order

when all the picks are made i will make a new draw to see who plays who.Both players will say why they picked each player and how they are going to deal with the opposition the match thread will be open for 48 hours in order for everyone to vote on who they thinks would win.

Trust me guys it's a bit of fun and it's going to work

Sorry MiciG91, I'm going to have to withdraw from this as I really haven't got the time to do it, went into it with eyes closed a bit not really understanding what was involved.
