So - should we bring him back as a 3rd choice striker..?

Personally, I would have him playing today if we could - think he deserves a chance here. He has scored a few important goals and sits as their second top scorer this season.

Whether or not Fabio makes it at the club, this is the kind of deals the club should be doing more often. Sending a young player that badly needs experience in this division out on loan to a team in the Premier League where they are nailed on to start.

As happy I was to see him convert a penalty against Chelsea,  he's still not scoring goals from open play.  Connor Wickham is scoring goals from open play. If Borini was in our team I'd suspect he wouldn't be our penalty taker... so as much as I can congratulate him on these goals,  they're goals he won't score for us. If Sunderland go down I'd put in a cheeky bid to rescue Conner Wickham from the drop and give them Borini for a season in the championship as a make weight.

      Great finish.
He is really settling in and toughening up.
Think this season at Sunderland where he is being played and trusted and then delivering will do him wonders.
Hope he comes back to us.
      Always liked him.

Reckon there is a place for him in our current team?

Think he has done very very well at Sunderland, definitely helped keep them up. Just not sure if he makes it straight in to our starting line up. Definitely a better option than Aspas though.

There is talk of the lad staying on loan at Sunderland for another season, he is at least able to impress for selection to international duty.
His chances of playing for Italy are virtually zero with the status he commanded at Liverpool.

seems to have blossomed a bit under Poyet according to what I've read anyway.

Pleased for him and glad he's doing well.
The big hope is that BR thinks he has progressed enough to stay and get some starts next season.

I reckon that's the least likely outcome. Purely guess work but he will either stay or be sold. His stock is pretty high considering he was loaned out and we could get a higher fee now.

Conversely he is playing well and if we are ever going to see him play in a Liverpool shirt again it's next season.

Want him here next season, coming of the bench to get us game wining goals.

I think he has it in him to be that player we turn to coming of the bench to get the goal, providing Rodgers believes in him i don't see why he would be anywhere else next season.
